Congrats to the US Men's team. They did great winning Bronze. People had counted them out because of the loss of the Hamms but this team had heart and worked hard to place in the games. I wish them all the best and hope they have a great four years to develop and maybe we will see them in London with Gold.

I am happy for the Chinese team too. They worked hard and under a lot of pressure to succeed. Not sure what would have happened to these guys if they had only come in second.

me and my wife agree that that boy who did the pommel horse last....should have gotten a higher score, as well as the high bar scores...seemed a little lower than they should have been, esp with the difficulty of justin springs's one hand "swings", not one but two of them
i am happy they medaled at all considering the blow to the team losing the hamms'. and what does anyone think about china not allowing marc spitz to come to see if his records get beat by phelps?

Phelps is from Baltimore, got busted for DUI a few years ago, and he represents the USA.

The Olympics is just a big TV ad for NIKE, SPEEDO, and everything else out there. I stopped caring about the Olympics once it became more about business, and less about compitetion.

I think the girls are 16+. Just bunch of Americans with sour grapes in their mouths. And Americans don't cheat at sports? Look at LA 84. The Chinese mens team deserved the team gold there but the judges got swayed by a very partisan American crowd. Don't think you can say the same for Beijing. And what of the World Cup in 99? During the penalty shoot out the American goalie was four feet in front the the goal yet the ref allowed it. That extra cut of the angle allowed her to block the shots of the Chinese team. You don't hear any of that in America. Better not throw stones in a glass house especially if you're made of glass yerself

easy to say that when you can not perform anything they do. try just holding your balance on rings WITHOUT them shaking all over the place. i imagine then you might appreciate how much power and strength it takes to do some of that.

FYI: Michael Phelps is from Baltimore, but he trains (and attended briefly) the University of Michigan. In regards to the DUI, he was a twenty year old kid who screwed up, accepted total responsibility, apologized profusely and paid his debt to society. I think he has done remarkably well considering all the media attention.
Major KUDOS to the gymnastics men!
