What a Chinese fell and didn't win the gold! OMG! i can't believe it. I thought that was par for judges. Wow. Go USA. I guess cheating doesn't always pay off. Congrats!

finally! I wanted her to win a gold...she definitely deserves this--the judges ripped her off all week!

Yay! It's good to see that she finally receives the gold that she deserves. Something also needs to be said of the fact that she has shown the most poise and maturity of all the top female gymnasts.

The most poise and maturity - couldn't have said it better myself. She really deserved that Gold Medal... She did a great job! So did Nastia!

I like Johnson but I thought Nastia's routine was far superior and more gold-worthy. Shawn pounded the beam. Nastia embraced it lyrically and athletically.

yeah a gold medal for the US gymnast just to keep you guys' mouths shut. The cry-baby tactic from the US really work. Now that the US gymnast got a gold medal and everybody is happy. No more questions about the judging system and no more questions about the ages.
Giving away a gold medal doesn't hurt the Chinese a bit. It is like charity. China is still way ahead of the US in gold medals.
What a happy ending.

Don't get me wrong. I am American myself but I'm sick and tired of you guys keep whining and complaining if the result didn't go your way.
What a shame!!!!!!!!

Nice freakin' earrings, Shawn! With little BS peace signs on them.

Did you ever stop to think that there might be a U.S.A. soldier who gets to see your opinion on the worldstage after a horrible day of facing IED's and cowardly terrorists? You get to do your thing because the U.S.A. soldier provides you with your freedom. Maybe before your next interview with the NBC crew, you ought to think about that.

Can you believe the nerve of her? The soldiers who see those earrings might actually think some people are against the war!

i agree. i was a little irritated at the blatant political statement. it was more interesting seeing an athlete with peace earrings. then again, i wore them when i was 15. it's just that these days, you're standing for something. it's just unusual to see a hard working hippy.

Everybody ease up on the earrings. Does anyone really think she was making a political statement? I think they were given to her from someone special and she likes them (although no one has asked from the media, despite her wearing them everywhere in Beijing). And, they certainly do look nice on her. That's all, folks.

Besides....two wars or not......what could anyone possibly have against peace?

What is she supposed to do, wear AK-47 earrings because we are at war?
