I am so proud right now. We have been on the Americans' hells for years!! I still feel badly for Tyson Gay. I probably would not feel this way were he not such a humble and cool guy. I really wanted to see Usain and him battle it out.

One of the best races of all times, excluding the mens 100. However, as a former sprinter I feel bad for Muna Lee who was obviously distracted by her fellow American false start that was not called. Otherwise, Jamaica is a sprinter powerhouse.

1 Consider the size of Jamaica and the size of the population. How can you compare both countries? Jamaica has always been a track and field powerhouse and has beaten many US athletes consistently over the years. There has never been a doping scandal about a Jamaican athlete. Please read about Donald Quarrie, Merlene ottey to name a few. Believe me they do not have to resort to drugs like Marion Jones, Barry Bonds, need I go on.......... |

There is obviously hate for the US but we miss the common point here and that is that we are all black people with African origins which gives us the will to be as talented as we are, whether we be from US, Canada, Belize, UK, Germany, France,Jamaica and on and on. This is what we should rejoice rather than those things that divide us. I rejoice any sister or brother who wins because it acknowledge our struggles.

Good point I have found that sadly many African American focus on the differences among Blacks such as ethnicity. Our position in society would be better if we focused on our similarities and learned from each other. When I first migrated to this country some o the most racist, cruel and prejudice people were my own sisters and brothers. Ironically, the whites were the most accepting. I have never been a sell out and I will never be, but the discrimination noticeable has decreased sync with my accent. My Jamaican accent is barely noticeable, so I am not ridiculed and humiliated anymore. Sad, but true. |
