So President Barack Obama thinks he bowls like a competitor in the Special Olympics? He's obviously never met Kolan McConiughey, a mentally disabled man considered one of the nation's top Special Olympics bowlers, with five perfect games to his credit.

Challenge the President. Of course, like all other challenges, he won't take it.

Actually you show up at their house, they give you a glass of wine with a "Roofie" in it and then they harvest your organs for the wealthy.

Dear Kolan... I work with special olympians, and taught school. The kids I taught looked forward to the special olympics. I am always joking that "MY KIDS" can run faster then I can. This is the same kind of humor that President Obama was trying to convey when he talked about his bowling game. He was not trying to disrespect any special olympian, he was merely stating that when it comes to bowling, he sees himself as specially challenged. Kolan, every single one of us is specially challenged in some way or another, and knowing you to be smarter then most, bear in mind that everyone is looking for something to use against President Obama to discredit him. I personally guarentee that you would have no trouble beating him in a game of bowling, and I hope he gives you the opportunity.

Writing to say , THIS is just an EXCELLENT post of reply..Vee..
and exactly (in my opinion) where it's at....

No one stopped for a minute and thought the new USA President - SO new in OFFICE ... one WHO-
is 'so anxious' to ingratiate himself with his people - is hardly going to purposely set himself up
and show himself in a bad light; his every word is being examined, with spy glass..

This political correctness is gone waaay to far..(in my opinion)
and until and unless the pendelum swings back 'somewhere'
in the normality of the '' middle ground '.. this will continue.

If I said 'There were 3 black people at last night's meeting'
Damn sure!!

Folks would descend on me asking indignantly>

'WHAT do you mean by 3 BLACK people'!!

Whereas if |I( said 'there were three white people at last night's meeting'
folks might yawn and respond > ''SO"?

I won't 'go on' as you, Vee, put your point across perfectly... and better than I am now doing....

Thank you, Grace. I have a heavy hand in the special olympics and if I thought for one second, President Obama was belittling those people, I would be the first one to raise holy hell. I stand by my post.

I know you would VEE..
'cos from experience, and, in the world of 'fair play' you always tell it like it is,
right down the line

--

Even when, or (if) it comes to 'calling a friend out'..
who might have overstepped the line -

you will be fair and do it... risking the consequences..

This is a strong and very admirable characteristic...
and you've 'got it'

I have never been afraid to look someone in the eye and tell them they are wrong and I would do the same with President Bam. There is a young man who works for the supermarket I frequent a lot who has downs syndrome. One day I walked in and suddenly he went and hugged one of the managers. The manager was embarassed and miffed, I watched his whole demeanor change and he stiffened. Then he saw me and relaxed his stance and I said, "I bet that was the only hug you got all day." He said it was. I called his attention to his ignorance.

Oh yes indeed,

You were perfectly correct, and by 'calling him' on his behaviour....
in fact .. I believe you did him a huge favour..
in opening 'a door of appreciation' in himself .. of some of the finest
of life's experiences...
