Poor baseball players..!!! they really play for Love to Sports. They must play with ..no pay or maybe couple hundred chavitos..Have no cars.... Must of them 99% must drive a bike miles from home for training and to play a game. They have no special diet,,only """the Libreta"""..onl y eat what thier family can find at the empty stores in Cuba. And to me what is more shamefull .. they have only one suit to play they must use years and years over and over again. The sports suit come so personal that after they are suspended from trying to leave the country. The suits are worth''many dollars" to the fanatics in and out of Cuba. The same with the baseball hats. These baseball players as soon as they have a chance..they come to exile to be free an a real BASEBALL PLAYER

You are correct concerning some aspects of the life of Cuban baseball players. Howerver, and a big "however" - corporate money has not polluted baseball in Cuba. In Cuba, baseball remains a beautiful sport retaing much of this sport's original purity. In the U.S. big dollars have virtually ruined the simple, original nature of this marvelous "American past-time"! So, here, here, for Cuban baseball.

Maybe you shoud work for free and have your family in the missery...or maybe better...you shoud live in Cuba. And about a past Time..It have always been a way to make money out of your ABILITIES AS A GOOD PLAYER here and in Cuba before Castro

I coached Little League for 8 fantastic years - been a baseball fan all my life - and watched as the game slid into the time when it is all about profit and out of control, multi- million salaries. I do not like the state control of baseball in Cuba - but I do like to watch good baseball players play just for the love of the game - as one can do in Cuba.

Dear President Obama:

You promise CHANGE! Well if you really mean it, and you do have good intentions, I challenge you to prove it. Demand from the Cuban government that all the political dissidents be set free effective immediately, particularly our afroCuban brother, Oscar Elias Biscet. Dr. Biscet is imprisoned for championing the cause for human rights. He never did anything wrong or illegal but his defense of human rights is considered by the dictatorship counterrevolutionary.
Over TWO Thousand KIDS have been kidnapped by the dictatoirship in Cuba.
These children in their greater majority are minors, that are kept from joining their moms & dads, simply because the Cuban dictatorship considers their parents who presently reside in the free world, and who are in their majority doctors & nurses, traitors to the dictatorship only becasuse they seeked to be free.
What is their crime? Simply that they abandoned their jobs as doctors when they left the island.
Once they tasted freedom they couldn't return to
be enslaved by the ditatorship. The dictatorship uses them in exchange for goods by sending them to other countries where doctors are needed. These physicians are virtual slaves of the dictatorship, and once they see what it is like to be free, decide not to return to be government slaves. They are penalized by having their families broken up and their children taken away.
Obviously the argument Cuba used with Elian Gonzalez to reunite him with his biological father,
does not apply in this case since it does not suit their agenda.
Mr President, just like castro demanded thar Elian return to Cuba, and was returned to castro in a silver platter by our own government, these children, using the same argument as was used with Elian , MUST be reunited with their biological families.
If you want to see the Cuban reality, the nightmare, visit this site:http://www.mariaelvira.co m/
Maria Elvira Salazar "Tiredness and fatigue and dissapointment we refuse to ascknowledge and/or accept. We refuse to accept our exile as the solution to the Cuban nightmare."
There are many of us who doubt you, prove us wrong with a good deed, but make this a demand that must be met, not just a simple request.
Be a HERO Mr President, not just another politician with an agenda. Please DO NOT END THE EMBARGO till this is met!

It is to much to ask a cuban baseball player...be and slave so I can watch nicely the games. What do you do for a living? I like to watch you too doing it for free. Professional Baseball always be compensate. Meantime you can go to the Little leagues in your local park of your town. I do sometimes and I love it. But when the Marlins the Yankees or SF are playing I do not mine to pay for a ticket, a beer and a hog dog
