This towns notorious keystone cops don't deserve anything. The whole notion of them needing a raise and working cars are just absolute bologna. These cops don't even do anything except sit on their rears at the many fast food joints, harassing people who just talk to the homeless, and bang the cities filthy prostitutes. They refuse to help people being robbed or having their property trashed by the ghetto rodents. They don't even follow what they already have in their city/county laws to retrieve stolen property back for people victimized. Just think for a second, that new HQ has only been funded by extorted coffers from their cameras and the towns corrupt council sweethearting their buddies backsides down in Austin and D.C.

And these potential hack career politicians down on college street wants me and everybody else that doesn't bow down to centextalk to believe that all of their lazy do nothing operations is because they're underfunded. GIVE ME A BREAK!

The only reason they are underfunded. Is due to the council spending tax dollars like it grows on trees.

KPD has a few whiners, sure, but there is a few who do their jobs right in patrol even though the higher ups are more concerned about having the latest and greatest smart phone and playing video games on police computers.

There is one in KPD who thinks that they should be able to budget gobs of money for insane wages, tons of gadgets and a multitude of so called "safety"equipment that borders on the idea of having a car, then a 2nd car to backup the first car with several tanks of backup gas with a semi to haul all the extra crap.

If the cyber-bullies of KPD would stop attacking citizens in forums and stop making false claims that they don't have enough, then maybe KPD would get more respect.

And if you want to know where all the tax dollars are going, look no further than the internal dept that support other more public dept. Dept like HR, IT, Finance and legal are the ones who think the money has no end and think it's ok to waste money on excessive out of town trips to so called seminars and equipment that no one uses and hasn't used in almost 10 yrs like the CRM program.

Instead, they cover up all the sexual harassment that the big-wigs do because they can't keep it in their pants and situations like the suspected attempted murder by poisoning of a employee and subsequernt psychological abuse recieved by managers and division heads only because the employee blew the whistle on his boss and knew too much about the sexual affairs the other bosses were commiting.

You know people talk crap about the Police Officers of Killeen. Yet how many are willing to do their job? It's easy to talk trash about what they do and or don't do. Yet not many are volunteering to make it better. If your retired from a police force or from KPD then you should be talking with the council letting them know how to fix it. Otherwise put up or shut up.

It's people like you who shake fingers at others who are simply being realistic.

Yes there are some good officers, but there ARE some bad ones. To overlook the bad ones is to cover up the nasty things they do and I for one hate people who cover up transgressions and make like nothing bad happens.

I've seen KPD officers steal, shoot wildly for no reason in their homes endangering other people, get drunk and wrap themselves and their motorcycle around a tree defy rules and sit at a desk and play deerhunter all day wasting taxpayer dollars, and I've seen officers abuse citizens both on the streets physically and online verbally which is called cyber-bullying and is reconized as a crime.

So if you want to be delusional and think all cops are perfect, then do so in the privacy of your home and let the rest of the world live in reality. I prefer to worship god, not someone who has a chance of being a meat head who failed in sports after high school and being a cop was the only other option they had.

I talk crap because I KNOW many of the local cops. Some are good and some are pure meatheads. Just like anyone else in the world. They are not heroes and they should NOT be put on a pedestal and fawned over.

If anything, they should be subserviant to the lawful citizen. Because they serve US. We do not serve them. They are being paid to protect us, not abuse us verbally or physically because they're having a bad day. They are human and just like any other human, some are good and some are bad.

I can do their job with ease. I've watched KPD for many years keeping track of what the officers do and I can tell you it is very easy to sit in car with another person and joke around for several hours. I can waste time on a PC. I can verbally abuse citizens on a forum site without batting an eyelash. So stop getting an attitude that cops can't do no wrong.

That's just simple BS.

I agree. There are some fine officers and there are some who are a piece of work also. They cannot be given a blank check. Being a police oficer does not automatically grant you hero status, it must be earned by acts.

Thank you Getserious. You are right on the money. I'll praise the good cops all day, but I will also look to remove the bad ones that bring a department down.

I don't shake my finger at people like you because you b$#chn about the horible police on KPD. I agree that their are a few bad apples on the force. Yet I was raised in a place were it is far worse. See the people of killeen have a say here. It so F'd up in Maryland and DC that people are afraid to even consider the idea that someone on the police force is a good cop. Yet unlike Maryland and DC you can get with the council and head police cheif. Things will get done. Yet you rather talk crap about them. Yeah you don't know what a horrible police Department is. Your no better than the media hounds. Glamourizing the bad so you can feel better about yourself. The truth is yes KPD has some ate up cops. Then they have people who are willing to give their life for yours. Yet went you talk down about KPD those are the ones you are putting down the most. So spread your hate about the bad apples. Yet one day you'll need KPD. The question your going to have to ask yourself is. IF this person is a good cop or a bad apple.

As a son of a over 4 generation of soldiers and police officers who did this for the love of their country and cities. Who along with them volunteered to give his life as soldier for yall. I can say with a heavy heart that it is very dissappointing watching something I loved go down the crapper. Yet i watch it everyday. Yet in the same time I see the soldiers who take pride in being in serving their country. Those are the ones i would rather give thanks for. Unfortunately a few bad apples fall in with that. Same for the Police I am thankful for the men and women that are willing to risk life and limb every day. Unfortunately some bad apples fall in with them to. SO with that said. Don't talk shit get with the council. Voice your opinnion. May it be one or many. You will be heard. Yet sitting hear blogging about it doesn't get rid of those bad apples.

Believe me, I tried getting with the council here. But like in MD and DC, they don't listen. And the chief here is more concerned about having the latest and greatest smart phone more than he is about providing good service to the citizens. Here in Ft Hood and Killeen there is a air of elitism here. The higher the rank, the more they feel entitled to things. just like Rick Perry here felt entitled to skip out on a speeding ticket because he's governor.

When the powers that be don't listen, don't accept e-mails or phone calls, and the upper management of the city are more concerned about hiding their illicit sexual affairs than they are about runnning the city properly, then a citizen like has no other choice but to go to an online forum.

Hell, even city employees who were abused on the job and had clear evidence of wrong doing can't get a local lawyer to sue the city. Those with the power here in Killeen can commit murder and get away with it because we very much have a good ol boy, buddy-buddy system here where the corrupt can keep being corrupt. Here, the good people just bow their heads and hide hoping that the corrupt don't take it out on them and cost them their job or worse.

So yeah, I do know how bad things can be. It's like witnessing a mass murder and not be able to stop it. That's right, I did that too during the recent shooting spree here on base.

Don't think that because a city is bigger, that it is more corrupt. I've seen people shoot at other people driving by their property and the police called them the local crazy and say they won't do anything because it's more a bother to send the crazy off than to let him be alone.

Just remember than when people come here and bad mouth their city, some less tactful than others, it is because they have tried everything and this is the only place left to vent.

Certain people have bought this city and they run it to pad their pocketbooks. They don't care about the populace because they know that out of 100,000 that only 1000 will vote. The powers that be have done a fine job of concentrating all the apathy in this area while the city on the other side of the base have all the middle class people and the city on the other side of Killeen has the majority of the upper class people.

Those who are not poor are stuck in Killeen because to leave now would mean great loss of money because of the economy. Killeen does a good job of hiding all the roaches so that unsuspecting visitors will come and spend money. Then once they are here, they find out how much ghetto there is and then are stuck unless they want to lose almost half of their equity to property hounds who buy up everything for pennies on the dollar and then turn around and sell again for mass profits. It's like going into a pawnshop for realestate.

Sure seems like it. Hey SS, If you don't like what I'm saying, why don't you get off your lazy butt and give me the money to leave if you want me gone so bad. Or better yet, you don't like what I'm saying, then YOU leave. I DO have the right to say what I want. Remember free speech? Or does that only apply to rude facist pigs like you who tells everyone to get the hell out because you're too lazy to face reality and try to make things better which requires actual thinking. You rather live in filth than to clean it up when someone complains about it? That is about a stupid of a notion that I have ever heard of.

Unlike you, SS, I'm not happy with scum level standards. I want to IMPROVE Killeen. I want to raise the standards of Killeen so that IT is not the city that brings down the economic standards of the region.

Unless you're admitting that you are trash yourself and that your upset that I want to clean up the trash and replace it with more valuable people who actually contribute to society instead of bring it down. Maybe you can breed some moronic kids and put them into our school system and then whine about the tests being too hard for your kids and bring down those standards too.

Could it be that maybe you are one of those cops who instead of serving the community, you spend all your time online cyber-bullying as many citizens as you possibly can?

So YOU move out if you don't like what I'm saying. I am here as long as I want to and there is not a thing you can do about it. Here, 1st amend rights mean something unlike centex where those rights are only given to brown-nosers and delusional idiots who rather kill everyone who opposes them than argue with them.

I was born and raised here in Killeen, and have lived here for about 18 years. From the time I was a child up to now, I always notice from experience, that there are some officers who do their jobs and others who flat out abuse their authority. In my opinion, it's more of the latter than the fore. Explain to me how officers can kick my front door in without a search warrant while I was sleeping, arrest me without telling me why, then search each room in my home without consent. Then when I attempt to explain the situation to the only people who have authority,(the KPD, the same people who commited these crimes) they completely disregard the matter and tell me that they won't investigate it because I don't have a valid complaint! The KPD is a joke. I have a great respect for the officers who acutally did try to help me out, and for that I'm thankful, but as far as I'm concerned, the officers I do know are corrupt, I wouldn't lend them a hand if I had a gun to my head. Crime is bad here, and the KPD just makes it worse.

I was at a friends house the other night until around 2AM.

I was speeding down business 190 about 15MPH over the speed limit.

I got pulled over, the Officer took my license and registration told me I was speeding.

He was polite and we dialoged for a sec.

He let me off with a warning and I went home.

The point is, they treat you like you treat them.

The Police department will eventually can the losers, its sort of a self cleaning oven.

No one likes a few bad apples making an organization look bad.

Does anybody know if ex-cons in Texas are eligible to vote? What are the rules for convicted felons to be able to vote in city, state or national elections?
