Enlighten me...why does this verse "comfort" you?<quoted text>
Here is one of my favorite Bible verses. It gives me comfort every time I ponder its true meaning:
2 Kings 18:27 (KJV) But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?
This is ironic that you picked this verse. Do you know what happens in the chapter?
Basically the invading king's right hand man is talking smack to the right hand man of the king of Judah...but through the work of the Lord...has to eat his words because the invading king has got his own set of domestic problems in his own kingdom and has to tuck tail and head for home without completing his mission.
Again, why is this verse "comforting" to you?
