IF ‘ASSAULT WEAPONS’ ARE BAD…WHY DOES DHS WANT TO BUY 7,000 OF THEM FOR ‘PERSONAL DEFENSE’?
The Department of Homeland Security is seeking to acquire 7,000 5.56x45mm NATO “personal defense weapons”(PDW)— also known as “assault weapons” when owned by civilians. The solicitation, originally posted on June 7, 2012, comes to light as the Obama administration is calling for a ban on semi-automatic rifles and high capacity magazines.
Citing a General Service Administration (GSA) request for proposal https://www.fbo.gov/... (RFP), Steve McGough of RadioViceOnline.com http://radioviceonline.com/department-of-home... reports that DHS is asking for the 7,000 “select-fire” firearms because they are “suitable for personal defense use in close quarters.” The term select-fire means the weapon can be both semi-automatic and automatic. Civilians are prohibited from obtaining these kinds of weapons.
Republican New York state Sen. Greg Ball also issued a press release http://www.nysenate.gov/press-release/departm... this week bringing attention to the weapons purchase request.

BEWARE OF SMART METERS
The development and implementation of Smart Grid technology in the U.S.– reinventing the electrical grid with Wifi-enabled digital power meters – is proceeding at breakneck speed. Although Smart Grid is the result of years of government planning, the recent kickoff was made possible through massive “green” grants that were quietly included in President Obama’s economic stimulus package starting in 2009.
Why the rapid pace and secrecy in installing the meters? Is it because the utility companies know that the majority of Americans would never allow for such a thing if they really knew more about these new meters, their harmful health effects, their inaccurate and often inflated billing, and the “big brother” control they will have over our use of energy and our own appliances in our own homes and businesses.
The lucrative grants in 2009 have drawn in a host of corporate players, from utility companies to digital meter manufacturers to control software vendors. Global companies like IBM, GE and Siemens are putting their full effort behind the “build-out” that will consolidate all of America into a single, integrated, communication-enabled electric delivery and monitoring system, collectively called Smart Grid.
The negative aspects of Smart Grid are seldom mentioned. Take cyber-security, for instance. Picture a tech-savvy criminal who breaks into your energy profile data by hacking the computers at your local substation: Based on your power usage, he knows when you are home and when you are not home, when you are awake and when you are asleep, whether you have a security system turned on or off, etc. Armed with such information, your possessions and personal safety would be at his disposal.

IRONICALLY-NAMED ‘SMART METERS’ PROVE TO BE A DUMB IDEA
Headaches, insomnia, tinnitus, DNA breakdown... These are just a few of the myriad problems mentioned when people talk about the constant bombardment of EMFs or electromagnetic frequencies, a huge by-product of the new Smart Meters being installed by public utilities around the country.
But wait! We have been told that the Smart Grid, with it’s Smart Meters would be a good thing for all of us. Now we find out that this scheme poses very real dangers to human health?

ASSAULT RIFLE VS. SPORTING RIFLE

VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/embed/8C-CLsMRcA0...

The media and the anti-gunners are trying to tell Americans that "assault weapons" need to be banned for public safety. The problem is, assault rifles were banned in 1986. What they want to ban now are semi-automatic sporting firearms. The firearms they want to ban account for less than 1% of the firearms used in crime. We need to stop this mindless attack on our Constitutional rights.

I bought my hand gun in Georgia when I lived there. If you're old enough to reach over the counter it's easy to buy a gun. Does that apply in Missouri too?
Of course I can carry it in plain sight, I'm just restricted in where I go..... truth is I don't carry it anywhere. It's home defense and little more.... ahhhh, just wondering.
Actually, I used to help with a Support Group in dear old GA. The therapist always asked for people to leave any coats, purses, etc. on a table off to the side. Poor guy didn't know that all the attendees were carrying their handguns on their persons.
Kind of a scary place sometimes. My next door neighbor used to carry a gun in the holster at his hip to go to the mail box.....
I was not aware of it, but before the 2003 CCW law, Missourians could "open carry" legally.

Texas law is a bit strange because one CAN NOT "open carry," even if one has a CCW permit. This of course does not apply to the police.

The gun laws across the US are a hodge-podge of differing laws. Vermont, for example requires NO permit to carry a weapon. Ohio now has a CCW law, but if you carry in your motor vehicle, the gun has to be in a locked container, and
you may NOT reach toward that container if stopped by the police.

You can carry a gun in your motor vehicle in Missouri, even if you do not have a CCW permit. You may NOT carry a gun anywhere in Illinois unless you have a gun permit, which is very tough to get there.

US law trumps Illinois law if you carry a gun locked in your trunk, with no ammunition in the trunk. However, you must have come from a state which allows guns and be enroute to a state which also allows guns. You must be on a continuing journey through Illinois, and you may not stay overnight in that state if transporting.

We need a uniform federal law applicable to all states.

If he is a Christian, why is he so worried about someone getting offended by the mention of God? Christians don't back down because they think they might offend someone because they believe in the Bible. No, no, it doesn't work that way. The Liberals are trying to take God out of everything. There are several known causes of cancer, neither you or I can speak to the future but here's what we know so far:

genetic factors

lifestyle factors eg. tobacco use alcohol consumption, drgs, diet, and physical activity

certain types of infections

environmental exposures, eg. different types of chemicals and radiation

Soooooooooooooooooo..........

Cancer = abnormal cells (that divide without control and are able to invade other tissues)

Your "location" indicates "Kennett MO." Do you really worry much about Wisconsin's "concealed carry law"? Missouri has issued CCW permits since shortly after 2003 when the CCW law was passed. The law was legally challenged because of several issues, but as I recall within a year all qualified Missouri citizens could obtain a CCW.(For citizens living in St. Louis County, and others, which refused for some time to issue CCW permits, it was only necessary to get a CCW license from Florida, for example. The non-resident Florida CCW license is legal in Missouri under the 2003 law.)
Around 2004, Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon obtained CCW license reciprocity rights with many other states -- as examples: Florida and Ohio.
Next time you carry into Arkansas, remember that it was Democrat Jay Nixon (now our governor) who got you that privilege in 2004 through a legal reciprocity agreement with Arkansas.
What affects one state can affect all 50 states, Dawg. My point was that it takes a Republican to straighten out a Democrat's screw ups. Scot Walker has done just that. People are starting to see that and now the Republicans stand a very good chance of taking over the House and the Senate. Union membership is dropping drastically since Right To Work is passing in several states. This backlash against Unions is what is going to take the Democrats down. By the way, numerous hospitals right here in Missouri are starting to lay people off because of Obamacare. This is going to cause a chain reaction. This isn't going to help the Democrats either.

1. President Obama isn't "worried about someone getting offended by the mention of God." (Where do you get this crap? "Fox News"?)

2. You apparently haven't listened to any of President Obama's speeches. For example, his 2013 Inaugural speech. Here is the entire speech, but I have set the video to start at President Obama's concluding remarks:

http://www.youtube.com/watch...

3. Liberals are not trying to "take God out of everything." Liberals are trying to achieve religious freedom for everyone, as guaranteed by the First Amendment of the US Constitution. And so are all loyal Americans -- President Obama included.

4. You continually attempt to force your particular "brand" of religion on everyone else. Thus you degrade the US Constitution, and the freedoms which it guarantees.

5. Don't try to play God! Or a Founding Father of the US! You are not qualified.

6.(P.S.- Palin was fired. She was no longer an asset to Fox.)
