The longest homerun ever hit in St. Louis or Missouri history was accomplished by Medford Darnell on a Sunday afternoon in June of 1980 at Ritenour High School baseball diamond, during a United Methodist Church league game that was witnessed by fifty spectators, verified and measured at 503'. It must be mentioned that this feat was done with the 'old' aluminum bats. Can you imagine how far this white stitch dudley ball would have gone with the 'newer' aluminum/composite bats. The ball landed 1/3 the way up the grassy incline toward St. Charles Rock Road, in left center field. This homerun is the 3rd longest homerun ever hit using the 'old' aluminum bats.

3]Medford Darnell, St. Louis, Missouri 1980
