I am looking to do a major remodel to my 90 year old south city home, but have no clue where to start. This not just an update kitchen and bathrooms and paint the walls kind of remodel. I am looking to relocate stairs, finish the attic, completely move the kitchen, and add a bathroom or two. So it is a pretty massive job, and too big to try and play general contractor on, or just hire a bunch of smaller contractors to peice it together. Does anyone have any recomendations on a good contractor or a design build firm that could help me with this remodel from start to finish? I am looking for a company that has alot of experience dealing with remodeling older st louis homes. I am hoping to find somebody that can put together an overall plan with construction documents/drawings and all. This is also an investment property, so I am not building my dream home. With that said, i am hoping to find a contractor that I can work with as far as me doing some of the work I know I can do to help on my bottom line. Things like demolition, finish work, installing interior doors, painting, installing sinks and toilets, and that sort of stuff. If anybody has any suggestion, it would be greatly appreciated.
