With spring approaching and damaging storms likely to rain on our parades, I want to share with you my personal experience with a local company who went above and beyond my expectations in the aftermath of last year’s storms. My daughter and I moved into our new home a few years ago. Since then, I’ve mowed my own grass, installed my own backsplash and even replaced the garbage disposal by myself. Growing up, my parents made sure I knew how to fix a flat, change the filter in the furnace, how to use a plunger…the basics. But when a tornado barreled through St. Louis last April, and left behind what looked more like a piece of honeycomb rather than a roof, I realized I didn’t know it all.

The next day, I noticed a door hanger on my door that read: From Mother Nature. My Apologies!!! I completely messed up your house while you were gone but I know who can fix it…

I laughed out loud. How nice of her to leave me an apology! The door hanger had been left by a company called BOLT Restoration and, appreciating the humor that couldn’t have come at a better time, I decided to call.

At first, I wasn’t looking forward to our appointment or to any of the hoops I imagined I was going to have to jump through to get my roof fixed. However, when I heard the knock and opened the door, the smiling young man (John) took the edge off and thus, began the process of fixing my roof.

After I explained the obvious, he inspected my roof and was able to identify and even document exactly what was going on up there. My anxiety over the exponential costs involved to fix my house dissipated as he explained that my insurance would cover it. Having never filed a claim before and not knowing what step to take next, he walked me through the entire process and made sure that everything was handled perfectly.

I got ahold of my insurance company who then gave me a claim number, just as John had mentioned. They said they’d have to send out an adjuster to inspect the damage and I can’t tell you what a relief it was when John also showed up for the appointment to make sure that the adjuster didn’t miss anything and to ensure that the necessary repairs were approved. A few days later, John had the contract all written up ready to go and I was so pleased when he met with me again before I signed anything so that he could answer any questions I may have had. Two weeks later, I had a brand new roof on my house that was not only constructed with some of the best products available, but looks better than it did before the storm came through!

Bottom line: I don’t typically take the time to journal my experiences with “gruntwork,” but in this case, my experience with BOLT Restoration was so above and beyond anything I could’ve ever expected that to not spread the word would feel like a crime. I had no idea how simple and structured the process of having my roof repaired could be but the truth is, after hearing horror stories from friends and family, it wasn’t that having a roof repaired is a carefree task; it was because it was handled by a company that, for once, held up their end of the bargain and followed through with every single thing they promised and more. There were no hidden surprises or moments when I felt manipulated or confused. These guys are experts and it shows in everything they do, from the second they walk in the door to the second the work is complete.
I certainly do not wish for another destructive storm to come rolling through St. Louis but let’s face it…we live in the Midwest and it’s going to happen again. The difference this time is that when it does, I know exactly who to call and if you get caught in the path of the same storm, if I were you, I’d follow my lead and call BOLT Restoration. We have enough to worry about these days just trying to keep a roof over our heads, right? Rest assured that if it blows off, BOLT will be there to put it back on!

You don't have to go thru all this just to advertise for your company, just give the name and phone number.
