I went to the one in Springfield today. What a complete waste of time. Took 30 minutes to get in, 45 to get out because nobody was directing traffic and it was a zoo. A complete failure on the part of the organizer. I was looking forward to it as this was my first gun show here. I will never go back. It was just insane.

So glad I found this page since I had planned on going to the gun show in Springfield in March with the hopes of seeing Glock, S&W, Ruger etc, with booths. Now I won't bother going.

Are there any REAL gun shows out there? I am not interested in used guns or ammo as I have a great dealer here.

Then don't go. I enjoy the circus.

I have to say the quality of gun shows over the last 5-10 years has seriously gone down hill rather quickly. The one held in St.Charles charges 10 dollars to get in, for what? For tables upon tables of old used junk war rifles and AR garbage, ammo vendors selling ammo marked up 4-10 dollars a box higher than walmart! Then we have the ones that wont work on the price of items, they expect top dollar for well used items and then bitch they have not sold a thing all weekend!
The show at Orlando Gardens is a damn joke as well. 5 bucks to get in, only to see a stinky candle lady and some guy with a shooting game and tables upon tables of old war garbage and some over priced ammo. And the one annoying vendor that ask "how you folks doin?" every time you walk by his table even though i just walked by less than 5 min ago, hoping i will buy some of his over priced Glock magazines. Who the hell pays 30 bucks for a new Glock mag? You can get them brand new at Cabelas for 19.99.
What happened to the good ole gun shows? The folks that put on these so called gun shows need to rethink things. It's more like big flea markets with over priced old war garbage, over priced ammo and stinky candle vendors, oh and we can't forget the beef jerky and the old lady selling PURSES!!!
These shows suck!!! And so do the junk vendors that set up at them!

Yeah i agree with the OP, the shows we see today are clearly not the shows i use to go to 15-20 years ago. Nothing but the same old guys trying to sell the same over priced junk and won't give ya fair trade on anything you bring in. Worst of it all, people still pay the price to get in even though it keeps going up and up. They need regulations on what items vendors can sell at a gun show to keep all the people selling crafts, jerky, candles and old war garbage from coming in.
First let me say this: I agree...sort of. I agree that some of the vendors at these shows are trying to sell polished turds at astronomical prices. however, I make pens on a wood lathe and sell them at gun shows along side some firearms. I am not a junk vendor and i still sell "crafts" . I am active duty United States Navy. Please don't lump all the vendors together. There are SOME useful or otherwise intriguing "craft" vendors at these shows. p.s. The booth next to ours was selling t-shirts with great pro 2nd ammendment slogans and jerky so don't knock him too bad.

If you wanna sell crafts, go to a damn craft show! Gun shows of the past never had any of these garbage peddlers. It use to be guns and ammo and maybe a knife vender. If I want jerky i'll go to the store, if I want a damn shirt i'll order it online. Funny how you push that you are active duty Navy, shouldnt be using that as a ploy to push your garbage at a gun show.

Lighten up Willy before someone whacks your willy. If you don't like what is at a gun show, don't go. You don't have to try and make ends meet for a gun show organization. Go to Tulsa. I guess all the cowboy stuff there should be banned, too? You probably collect crappy old military rifles and bayonets that are worthless!

RK show in OKC. Attended this morning. 4/27/13. Same over pricing as usual. 223 & 556,.75 to $1.00 per round for the cheap stuff. 22 LR was the same over pricing that I've seen lately. Cheapest 100 round 22LR CCI mini mags were $20 per box. Overpriced Ruger brand Mini 14 magazines, the few I found were NIB, 20 rounders were $60, 30 rounders were $70. People have to wake up and stop paying these prices. Probably the last show for me, unless something changes.

It is all getting ready to turn around. The people trying to gouge you on ammo prices will be losing money on them before long. Don't buy from the gougers, let them choke on it.

Valdosta is in LOWNDES county. Why were Tift County deputies in the parking lot in Lowndes county???? And Gander Mountain is way higher than gun shows! Been to numerous shows in Valdosta, never seen LE in parking lot, only one at door checking weapons brought in to show.

So, I went. Mistake. Vendors wanted a dollar a round of .223 reloads. I saw old, beat on AR-15 mags for $40. Some had some "deals" at $30 a piece. Luckily I bought several from RRA at $15 a piece. AR-15 rifles themselves were marked up signigicantly. Pretty much all the AR's that were just under $1,500 were the ones you could have got 2 months ago for about $700. All in all, it sucked. HOWEVER, I was not there for handguns, and there very well could have been deals there, I am just not in the market as of now.

Well folks another shitty show is happning this weekend at the St.Charles convention center. 10 dollars to get in and see all the high prices, war junk peddlers, and candle dealers, hell even girl scout cookies now! These shows are now nothing more than mobile flea markets!

About the only good thing at gunshows these days is the selection of Beef Jerky.

I have read several of the comments being posted about the RK Gun Shows. Concerning the $10.00 admission price, have you ever ask how much he has to pay for the building in St. Charles for just one weekend? Do you people know that the convention center collects that admission price, do you know that the convention center then takes out of that money for the police officiers , concession stand employees, the maintenance crews, plus the overnight security. Do you know that building for one weekend cost him several thousand dollars? Have you ever ask him how much his liability insurance for just one show is? Have you ever ask him how much he spends on advertising for just one show? Do you think he gets his buildings for free, do you think his insurance cost him nothing, do you think all those people work for free? We set at at several gun shows and I can tell you that in the state of Missouri there is no better gun promoter. He brings in the biggest crowds, there is NO ONE BETTER. Rex treats his dealers with great respect! If he has a dealer banned from his shows I can tell you he has a good reason for it. Now he is being bad mouthed by some dealers in tenn. Get the facts people, it is the fairgrounds that is making the rules that no guns will be sold without paper. I rest my case!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the multiple years of reviews, folks. I was thinking of going this weekend in Tulsa.$14.95 admission sounded expensive if I'm interested in buying something. Economically, that's not worth it if I'm not going to get a good deal inside. Plus, I have no idea what's inside except, apparently, beef jerky and candles.

Sounds like the quality isn't great if admission has gone up as significantly and the selection isn't necessarily guns and knives.@Brenda I have no idea where you're coming from. Maybe it's a weekend pastime for you but actually going for a simple purchase doesn't sound worth it. Maybe you like candles and beef jerky but the name of the show has gun and knife. To me the consensus sounds like false advertising
