Kids are spoiled little brats now. Most people's idea of parenting is giving them video games so they won't bother them. That's also the reason why kids are getting fatter and fatter.
You said it, Brother. When I see my former students, who are now parents, walking down the street or at the park with their small children, the parents are fiddling with some kind of electronic device while ignoring the child who is aimlessly wandering behind. It's sad. What kids see adults doing is wht kids end up doing, plain and simple. The parents are passing along the unspoken message that it is more important to have an electronic device than to have children. Ignorance and detachment gets worse from these types of practices. Heart-breaking. The future of mankind is in serious trouble.

Kids have gone wild because they've not had any discipline at home. The teachers are limited in what they can do to remedy this and, unfortunately, they cannot teach an uncooperative child.
You said it, Brother. The poor, misguide and warped students see their parents displaying unabashed disregard for acquisition of knowledge and the drive for self-improvement while worshipping ignorance and laziness. Many, too many, parents around here have no personal goals or professional ambitions. It's sad. The gimme attitude created by the gross misuse of our once well-intended public welfare and assistance programs foster the faulty reasoning in many adults that they are due or owed a kept existence. This mental illness gets passed along to children by adult actions as an unspoken expectation and acceptable norm later on. It's sad. And scary. The future of mankind is at a moderately-severe risk.

Possum, shows just how misinformed and off the wall you really are. But, then again I'll just bet you are a shining star in the hills of West-by-God-Virginny. Better stay there possum, where your ignorance and stupidity are appreciated. TaTa for now Lady of Quality

It's because of that rule of 180 days of school. People should report that to the state board of education. It's the same way in Mullens also. Totally different county same junk. A waste of time.

Possum, One can certainly tell you've never spent 180 days in school. Sounds like you stayed home and "serviced" your kinfolk!!!! You didn't learn much, but meemaw was sure happy!!! Oh well, very typical for the hills I suppose. Yes to your type an education is a waste of time. Possum, you truly are a loser. TaTa for now Lady of Quality ps perhaps we could employ you as a domestic or gardner at one of our properties, however a drug screen and an aptitude test is required and I seriously doubt you could pass either. Perhaps life in Wrong Turn country suits you best after all.

Teachers and students should be held accountable for education. I am amazed at how many students never turn in homework. The best students are those who have involved parents in the home. That does not mean that they attend PTA or ever step foot in the school...they simply support their child. They want them to have options in life, not having to settle for what they can get. Oh, homework is considered practice. If you feel that you are teaching your child math that should be a clue that he or she did not understand it when it was presented at school. Why...do they need teaching, were they paying attention, do they just not care because they know their parent doesn't, or do they have a true learning problem. I liked school and passed this on to my children. I helped them with their homework and now all 3 are professionals. But then again I wanted my children to do their best and instilled in them a good work ethic, something that my husband and I were taught.

<quoted text>Possum, I say, "Let the chips fall where they may." What does owning 100 acres have to do with my final vacation possum? You people are not only stupid and ignorant, you are so jealous it's not funny. I believe I have as much chance of going to heaven as you or anyone else does. Case in point, you do not wish someone to go to hell then go to heaven yourself. Careful what you wish for possum. Now some of our friends already believe we own 100 acres in hell,(WV) to be exact. Perhaps they are correct. TaTa for now Lady of Quality ps Today was simply lovely. I shopped with friends in Palm Beach and Boca Raton. Too bad there are no Sak's,Bloomingdales,Macys or Neiman Marcus's in your entire state. But then again the hillbillies could not afford to shop there anyhow and would not even know how to dress for the occasion. I guess Wal-Mart and the Dollar Store is about your speed possum. Don't choke to death on those cheap dollar burgers when you dine out at the exclusive Micky D's. TaTa for now Lady of Quality
We would be better off in WV in fact, if not for the likes of you influencing our children. All those fancy stores you talk about? we don't need em...That's not what makes us the beautiful real people that we are here in Appalachia and you can keep all your mansions and acreage...hope it makes you happier in the future than you sound today...the degradation of other people and the thrill you seem to get from it is what you will pay for in the end..Karma WILL bite you in that fancy ass of yours..And by the way..How much of all of your Material Things that seem so important to you, have you actually worked and paid for??I would guess either you fell into some old money somehow or you are lying all together because it doesn't sound like you have enough integrity to earn that kind of a living..am I Right??

If our kids was taught 180 days they'd have to be smarter, but fayette county is a joke. Our kids are lucky if their taught 100 days a year. Just ask your kids what they do in school, its a joke how much time is wasted.

Possum, you are not unloved, just ask any family member!!!!! I have been on a little R&R. It was raining in Orlando/Heathrow area so I flew to Cayman Islands for a little diversion. We keep a modest place there for diversional comfort. Georgetown is quaint and the ocean breezes are lovely. Actually my home there sits on a hill on the north side of the island (Grand Cayman) and my bedroom faces the gulf. The breezes are delicious. Nothing like lying in my feather bed sipping a glass of white wine while enjoying a total body massage. Usually I listen to classical music and let my mind run free. It truly is wonderful being wealthy and beautiful possum. TaTa for now Lady of Quality
