Intelligent Design: Coming To A State Legislature Near You

There are 52859 comments on the www.scientificblogging.com story from May 7, 2008, titled Intelligent Design: Coming To A State Legislature Near You. In it, www.scientificblogging.com reports that:

Religiously motivated strategies to oppose evolution in schools started out with efforts to ban the teaching of evolution. When that approach was struck down by the Supreme Court, Creationists took to arguing that 'Creation Science' was as scientifically legitimate as evolutionary biology, and therefore the two subjects should get equal space in the school curriculum.

While there are certainly some "fundamentalist" atheists that exist, in general most atheists just go about their lives doing normal every day stuff without the need to engage in any kind of religious ritual.

I know exactly what Atheism is.
Apparently not.

Of course fundamentalist theists can't understand any other view other than their own, so they assume that anyone with a differing point of view is really just like them, merely of a different stripe. You assume that just because most people like football and you're a Raiders fan that they must like another team like Redskins or something. But in reality they just don't care about football.(shrug)

No, because the First Amendment guarantees freedom of, and freedom FROM religion.

And they have it.

And to think when you first showed up I thought you might show a glimmer of rationality. Oh well.

MOST of the whining and crying are THEISTS trying to assert their religious beliefs on everyone else. Not to say there aren't some ATHEISTS trying to do the same, but most atheists have long since recognized the sham that organized religion is, and are quietly ignoring the theists.

But when theists attempt to get Creationism/Intelligent Design taught AS SCIENCE, in public school SCIENCE classrooms, that I personally raise hell.

....and you can stick your 'whining and crying' comment right up your ass.

So, do you have a position as to the teaching of Creationism/Intelligent Design vs Evolution in public school classrooms?

Or are you just a thread troll.

I'm betting the latter, DESPERATELY seeking attention of any kind.

So your not huh? sure you ain't Gay-Theist.. out east the courts have already shot down any teaching of ID as science. Rhode Island I think back several years ago.. I get plenty of attention, unlike most of you Gay-Theist that didn't as children..The argument on this thread by y'all is another pathetic attempt to get attention on a matter that has been settled.

Add to above:

The issue of teaching Creationism/Intelligent Design vs Evolution in public school classrooms is FAR from 'settled' POLITICALLY.

Science has for a LONG time concluded that the Theory of Evolution is the best explanation for the diversity of life on earth.

Science has for a LONG time concluded that the Theory of Evolution is the best explanation for the diversity of life on earth.
But not the only one. I think of it as more of an Adaption then we Evolved from a rat in a hole after the dinosaur extinction, and if you get down Dirty for Dirty, we as a species was there in that burrow with them. The Finch that Darwin spoke of, the one he noticed with the bigger beak adapted that beak because of the food supply and bigger beaks suited that purpose better but it was still a Finch and there are others to this day, so it really wasn't, only the strongest that survived. So in that sense, I would agree with evolution but as far as saying I crawled outta that burrow with the mole, Nah, I don't think so!

What you 'think' is irrelevant.

The scientific evidence is what matters. The Theory of Evolution explains this evidence and is what should be taught in science classrooms.

What I *PERSONALLY* think is also irrelevant.

It so happens that I accept the consensus of those that are in the relevant fields of science.
