NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo Demands Marriage Vote Before Father's Day

Mar 31, 2011 Full story: www.queerty.com 18

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is quickly becoming America's favorite pro-gay marriage advocate , is supposedly personally "quarterbacking" an effort to get the Empire State on board with the half dozen others that let Gs get M'd. And just how bad does Andy want this to happen? Very.

I hope the legislature passes a Marriage Equality bill this spring.

So far, Governor Cuomo seems to be the best Governor we have had in many decades.

In fact, I can't remember a GOOD governor we've had in the past 50 years.:(

When I say "Good governor" that means I think he's an effective leader. Of course being a Democrat he is STILL "Evil. PURE EVIL." You CAN be an effective leader and still be PURE EVIL. Hitler is a good example.

When you become a Democrat, you MMUST swear a blood oath on the Communist Manifesto, to Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin and The Kennedys. It's been that way since the dark days of Aaron Burr. EVERYBODY knows that !

Leave that racist pedo, Daniel from LI's, trash to sit without comment. You only invite further annoyance by replying directly to his ravings.

Gov Patterson pushed a vote too and remember how that turned out.....

After our betrayal in Maryland by 2 Democrats and the obvious problems we're having in Rhode Island, I don't hold out much hope for New York anymore. It would take at least a half dozen GOPasaurs to buck their party- not likely.

Our best bet for marriage equality will be in Washington state in 2012.

The BETRAYAL is on the head of the Democrats. When this was voted on, the Democrats held a MAJORITY in the New York Senate, and EIGHT DEMOCRATIC Senators (out of 32 at the time), which is 25%, voted AGAINST the Marriage Equality bill. How do you expect it to pass if such a huge number of DEMOCRATS vote against it ?!

Methinks you should get your own house in order before casting stones.

btw, in this past election, the Democrats in the New York Senate were reduced to a tiny minority of only 26 members out of 62 total senators.

You're such a f-ing moron.

So now they will have to even MORE GOP votes to pass any marriage bill than they got last time. Now remind us all how many GOPasaurs voted for the marriage bill last time? Oh that's right- NONE, ZERO, ZILCH, NADA! 100% of republicans voted against it compared to 25% of Democrats. So which group had a higher percentage of their members voting against marriage equality?? Hmmmmmm???

Now what makes you think they're ever going to get any GOPasaurs to vote for it this time?

Andrew Cuomo seems to be a good fit in NY. He seems to be a more enlightened version of his father, the former Mario Cuomo. Just what this state needs!

Half of New York's monetary problems would be fixed if we got rid of NYC. NYC sucks about 40% of upstate taxes, with the majority of benefits going to a small portion of the population. Turn NYC into something similar to Washington DC.

You're right about NYC sucking up state resources. But it's home to well over a third of NY residents. You can't call it a "tiny population.". And that's why NYC politicians effectively control the legislature. The only way the situation could be worse for up-staters is if NYC were also the capital.

If the democrats are so evil, what have the repubs done for the GLBT community?

Frank/Daniel is one of those self-hating homosexuals who gets in bed with the enemy just because he hates the Dems even more.
