Passenger rail plan running behind

A plan to bring passenger rail to Southwestern Vermont is slightly behind schedule, according to the Vermont Agency of Transportation, but it is expected to catch up shortly.

The money would be better spent on putting an electric fence and a mine field around Pownal so no more of the Pownalites can escape into Bennville. Maybe we could encourage tourist to come up to the fence and throw peanuts to the Pownalites.

Seriously, one round trip intercity bus would cost the taxpayers 90% less, but the chamber of commerce types and politicos want the eye candy of a train. And, yes, too many Vermonters loath the color that they think will get off a bus. Sad.

Billions on a train that few will ride. Makes about as much sense as Obama Care.

Buy buses and give free rides, it'll be far cheaper and used more.
