Look at me. Look at me. I think I am so intelligent because I come on here and post nonsense. Then I make fun of people so I can feel like a big boy. If I don't have anything to say, I just ramble on about lightbulbs. My friends think I am so cool. We're going to go buy some comic books now.

They should look at poverty in small groups at night on Dice Street and Cherry Avenue, and for a little diversity the undocumented trailer court on 5th street. I think it would be a touching exp. for them.

Your attitude is shared by those who love big government the most---the ones that hang around the social services office waiting to apply for the newest prgrams that working people foot the bill for.
That's right, because broad sweeping generalizations are only for liberals and leftists, right? How is it then that you so often engage in it. On any given topic, you are among the first to pigeon hole a group, without any regard for individualism. You're quite the enigma. Isn't individualism the sole proprietary of small government apologists?

What a bunch of "poverty" experts on here. Oy. I'm not sure who thinks "ignorance is bliss." It seems here that ignorance is anger - or at least breeds it.
If ignorance is bliss, why are there so many miserable people?

Someone uses the one I use... I'm pretty sure we both got it from the Big Lebowski.

The court websites are excellent at dispelling ignorance as they clearly show why so many in the area cannot find employment.
We now check the Crime Times as part of our employment vetting procedure. The person's name is run through the court websites, the convictions tallied and a decision made. The labor force in this region is really hard to deal with and our employees bring their relatives here to help with temporary vacancies. We know that they don't have police records and are trustworthy.
Crime Times, where the charges are tried in the court of public opinion prior to being convicted of any crime. The assumption of guilt has become more institutional than innocent until proven guilty.

This study is not only about the homeless, it is about poverty in this area in general.
FYI- if you make federal minimum wage ($7.25 per hour), an individual needs to work 144 hours per week on average in Virginia to afford a standard 2 bedroom apartment. This allows for no more than 30% of your income to be devoted to housing costs.
and now, Rep. Cantor is supporting a bill that will allow employers to offer comp time in lieu of overtime pay. You still work over 40 hours per week, you just have the option of not getting paid at an overtime rate so that at some future time, your employer might give you the use of your comp time ( hmmm). sounds like stealing to me.
poverty is a problem in Charlottesville and Albemarle.
Sure, but that doesn't work when you're trying to pigeon hole people with sweeping generalizations. Astigmatic individuals only look at the end result and have no interest in cause and effect.

There are plenty of cheaper places in the state to live but Charlottesville is handout heaven so a person has to make an informed choice. The Haven? New Life path? You can't blast our career program riders out of here! Even a simple eviction from public housing often takes a squad of police-----our boys know an unbeatable deal (and location) when they see one. This place is a magnet for "overachievers" from all over the state and points beyond.
As for stealing, two thirds of the country now steal from one third. Do your google search---
Ntu.org who pays the taxes
this site is excellent at summarizing the IRS tables.
Is it theft when they pay an equal proportion to their wealth or income?
