Oh really? This is absolutely astonishing. What a revelation. Does all of this data include everyone without teeth?

If you really want to improve oral health, address smoking and beverages loaded with sugar.
You can clean someone's teeth every 6 months but it won't make much difference if they keep smoking and guzzling soda all day.

Good gravy! How many taxpayer dollars were spent on this study to show us what we already knew?

Let's add a couple a million more patients to roles for free and then pay through the teeth for more studies to tell us there aren't enough caregivers to provide the mandated benefit!

Sound familiar!?!

...wait for it.

Then let's get some shovel ready projects out there to have gov't monitors in everyones bathroom twice a day to ensure they are brushing/flossing in the proper manner for at least 3 minutes per session.

BTW, save it, cause we already know it is W's fault!

So you are in favor of sin taxes on cigarettes, cigars, and beverages loaded with sugar?

I believe twinmom is suggesting we tax cigarettes, cigars, and sugar laden drinks until there is enough to provide enough dental care for everyone, or at the very least incentives everyone not to smoke or drink.

I'm not the one suggesting a tax, read twinmom's post.

I never suggested anything, I asked if she was suggesting a tax, but I didn't even conclude that we out right ban it. Is that what you think she's suggesting?

I got dental insurance only to find out that its only a good deal if you have perfect teeth. Well, having British backgroud that just ain't so. Dentists have a good racket going, better even than doctors and lawyers, I'm lucky, I've never required the servic of the later 2.

You're implying that VA has an unemployment rate nearing 50%, which isn't true.

Y arent their any easy steps for a person who has a low low fixed income to get or own a home? The government has it so that a person on disability will never be able to live on there own as far as having their own place and be able to pay all their bills and personal products. I mean they dont think about things like that. I mean do we have to settle for less? NO! Why should we but yet the government gives section 8 to women that has tons of kids knowing they cant support them but they know all they have to do is pop out more kids and say "hey i cant afford a place and day care and I dont have a car to go to work take care of me and my kids"! BOOM the government does it but then a person with no kids and on disability ask for a two bedroom place and a little help to get on their feet and low rent to pay it off and its a NO! SMH I just dont get that! But I guess that wont make the news either unless senseless violence is goin on. Thanks for listening.....signing off Missy

I don't think my taxes should go for many of the people currently collecting! I see a lot of people collecting disability that should not be. If they're working under the table and I find out, I'm going to start calling 'em in. I'm tired of freeloaders.

Anyone who spends money on cigs or alcohol out to be responsible for a dental bill. When they take these polls they ought to survey how many smoke and drink. I think the correlation would be high.
