so the scotts decided the land was no longer valuable/profitable as farm land and they could make a lot more money by developing a rather large tract of land....

Huh? Do you have a coherent point to make? Does it say anywhere in the article that the Scott family is developing the land? They SOLD the land. Then the folks THEY sold it to went belly up. Then the bank that loaned THEM the money SOLD the land again. So, if my math is right here, we're three owners past the Scott family.

Secondly, the land in question is quite profitable as farmland, both historically for the Scotts and currently for the new owners, and it shows every sign of continuing to be so in the future. Thanks for running your mouth about something you obviously know nothing about though. Seems to be about par for the course for you.

Don't talk squat on the Scott's. Mr. Scott is one of the most compassionate, stewards of the land you'll ever meet. Like the other guy said, what is your point. Crawl back in your hater hole.

It all sounds like a good deal. Of course, these are commercial firms involved in this, and what is to insure they really do what they say they will - and that future owners will agree, and continue this acreage in such a conservation area? Will it be locked in tightly so that even some future weak willed government can easily change things for the worse? Here is hoping it will come out well for all concerned (that means WE the American people).

Well at least it wasn't declared a conservation area and we'd have to pay millions for it. Biscuit Run.

Again, what in the world is your point? You obviously know nothing about this. Mr. Scott had his pick of suitors for this parcel for years and years (despite saying he'd never ever sell) and he ended up choosing a company who constructed some very air tight CRRs. They went belly up, and then their bank found a very similar owner in the new folk. So what exactly is the "revolting gimmick" here? Please be specific. Which bankers are smiling? Seems to me there's been nothing but bankers loosing money here since Fred sold the place. And where is the money flowing? From buyers to sellers? Isn't that how your precious free market is supposed to work? And where are the politicians here? This ain't Biscuit Run, as anyone who knows anything about Bundoran could tell you. But no, just like "jogger" you apparently have nothing to do besides run your mouth over the same tired talking points in a million different threads you obviously know nothing about strictly for the sake of hearing your own voice broadcast anonymously over the internet.
