I find that a lot of them are a lot ruder. There was this woman walking down the street, probably in her forties, and she was overweight. Well, these two boys started yelling at her that she was nasty, ugly and overweight. They used ruder words though.

It hasn't been that many years since I was a teen. I'm in my twenties now, but I would never have said that when I was younger. It seems like each year it gets worse.

Kids don't have respect for their elders anymore. If I had done that and my mom found out, she would have smacked me across the face.

Me again. As it relates to rudeness, that is the least of their problems. Many of todays teens that I have taught, will never get beyond a minimum wage job unless daddy owns the store and hires him only to find things missing. The reason is ignorance and the fact, most teens steal.
My neighbors oldest son just began grade 8 this year, home schooled, and I can talk trig. with him and current events as if were hoodball to a public school idiot.
Attitude deals with the emotional part of the brain;ie as you said, "yelling at an overweight woman..." Many of the public school teens are (ED-Emotionally Disturbed). Many of their parent(s) as well. The logic/reasoning part of their brain is all wired wrong.
Finally, you have what we all call, "A pain in the ass." That will be their life at 15, 25 till death. The solution--none, unless confinement or a drug is considered. Just hope they don't ever reproduce.

Guess what, teenagers have parents who are responsible for teaching their kids right from wrong. Too many times parents are busy doing their own thing and they leave the kids to raise themselves. Take a look at how some older people act. Teens are not all bad. The ones I know are great kids. They are respectful, hardworking and smart.

<quoted text>I have taught math in middle school since 98. I was in jr. high back in the early 80s. The teens today could at minimum have a sense of humor. They looklike pictues of death, zombies. The whites do act like the blacks, why, I don't know why. The blacks are some of the most obnixous people in the schools. They dress like bag ladies in NY where I grew up. The classroom reeks and I open the windows 'after' each class.
Attitude wise--they are as one said, very sh)tty people, very defensive. Most talk tough but if the principal said to all the men teachers, "for 1 day, you can kick their ass literally, we will look the other way..." every teen in the school would be as quiet as a mouse and respectful. Most people talk tough if they think the other can't do a thing to them.
Will it improve? Not in public education and most home. Where will they be in their 20s? Some will work labor jobs, go from job to job, marry, divorce, marry...cycle of defeat. Many or some will be incarcerated, some in-out of jail, a fraction will be decased due to the habit of talking tuff/bluff, only to find the end of a gun.
I am so thankful that you are not my child's teacher. Some people have no business teaching school. If you don't like kids maybe you should seek employment elsewhere. Not every teen is bad, just like not every adult is good. Some adults could learn alot from kids. The language you choose to use in your post is not language that a mature, intelligent person would use.

I would def agree with that. It's only getting worse. A pole taken outside of MTV studios showed that more than half of the girls present thought it was ok for a man to hit a woman if she steps out of line. It's nice to see that the liberal agenda is preparing them to wear burkhas.
You cannot group all teens in the same category. If a white man in his middle fifties said that it was ok to hit a woman whould you say that all white men in their middle forties were no good?

Without a doubt he will probably be happy to leave.

Again, if the parents instilled a sense of dignity and discipline in their own kids that wouldn't happen, yet they depend on the TV and public schooling to do that for them. My folks taught me how to act, and I still follow that.

That is the way most parent(s) think. Just like you. "Oh, they are not so bad?" Or,'my child can never do wrongly..." Listen up. This is 2009, not 1964. Todays teens are the sh.ttiest in American History. I teach Math. Ask 'any' middle school teacher off the record and you will quickly find the truth. Most teens are noisy, foul mouthed, dress like clowns, and yes, many pride themselves on being ignorant. There was a time when we all were in Jr High and there was the usual 2 or 3 punks. Now, it's the usual 2 or 3 who have any sense, can talk in a nornal tone, and complete a simple worksheet on time. Most can't add fractions in the 11th grade. In fact, I have had to tutor basic math to 12th graders. Geometry, physics, caculus, LOL.
