The idea is nice but I agree. Plus, the spread of who will be placed with these seniors is quite broad. "They're matched with graduate students or younger seniors who need affordable rent." I fully see these grad students or young seniors taking advantage of helpless older folks who don't know any better. They will get taken to the cleaners!

Correct but don't spread the word yet. The possibilities are endless here and I always enjoy reading about the consequences of feel good/do good initiatives in this burg. They keep the jail brimming.

sounds like a set up for seniors and renters alike. Read the laws of adverse possession and the renters will have responsibility for the senior just because they are living in the house.

Actually it's more like "May GOD protect the elderly who take part in this program." Just about every time the elderly take part in a government sponsored program, the elderly get screwed.

To add to my previous post, Yes, I know this is not currently a government program. However, I see the government stepping in to "protect" the elderly and to "protect" the students rights and taking over the program. Programs to help always seem to end up in the government hands and turned into a nightmare for all involved.
I will be happy to be proven wrong as the future unfolds.
