Not conflicted, there is good and bad in all professions. Don't assume all is bad except on police agency.
Very true, from the white house on down, but not many professions hand out the ominous responsibility of carrying a badge AND a gun. You would think that more care was taken to weed out those that have personality flaws not conducive to the public good. Thats not done in most local law enforcement areas. No psych screening done at all. As aresult innocent people die at the hands of unstable idiots with a gun.

It's up to the Judge to impose sentences. It's time for people in this state to hold judges accountable for weak sentencing. I've seen the same person in Charlottesville courts charged with 8 trespass offenses let off with good behavior. A lot of judges are slapping ALL offenders on the hand and no one says anything about it.
Sorry DbAg you are WRONG this sentence was given by a jury of citizens from Culpeper. The judge can't add more time to this sentence, I agree the justice system is in need of tweaking. But the people that imposed this sentence is the jury.

I stand corrected...thank you. I did not know that this was a jury trial. Then the jury of citizens should be held accountable for a weak sentence...that is if you believe that the sentence is light. However, I do stand by my assertion that judges that hear cases without juries need to be tougher.

George Hughely killed Yeardley Love charged with second degree murder was sentenced to 23yrs getting ready for an appeal..Harmon-Wright killed Patricia Cook charged with manslaughter (should have been murder) sentenced to 3yrs a slap on the wrist...What is wrong with the justice system? I guess its all in who your family is (Hughely dads a judge) and what position you held (a police officer, and the color of your skin. People go to jail longer then this for saling drugs, the someone who takes another life. Where is the respect for human life?
