This wasn't already illegal? Well, glad at least that it is now.

Actually, the current laws are weak and ineffective. We've been dealing with this for years, personally. We have had NO legal recourse. I'm not for more laws, but in this case, it was long overdue.

I saw the pictures on the news. Her uncle should be executed for what he did those people. I got sick watching it, and I have seen just about all sorts of human depravity.

I don't know what is worse, the fact that we actually need such a law or the fact that sez you is such a party line moron and an oxygen thief.

I personally don't care who introduced this law or what party affiliation they may have. But Kudos to Rob Bell for introducing something that protects those who need protecting.

So do we need a law for those not incapacitated too?

NASGA applauds any law battling financial exploitation of the elderly.

But, what does the law do for judicially sanctioned financial exploitation of Seniors via unlawful and abusive guardianships and conservatorships -- a growing threat to the health and wealth of our vulnerable elderly and disabled, and a threat to our economy?

Currently, there is no recourse when the system is the abuser. For more information, visit NASGA's website, www.StopGuardianAbuse.org .

Forewarned is forearmed!

Oh the truth hurts don't it? I was aware of a case involving this kind of fraud, the perp ended up doing time. So the laws are there, and Bells just another headline seeking politician.

Sorry,but...if Ms. Beidler was so concerned about her grandparents, why hadn't she checked on them well before they got into such bad shape? How did it get this bad before anyone else knew?

As the story stated, she fought for help for years...5 long years with APS and the local police actually. Careful what you judge.
