Va. awards $2.6m for battlefield preservation

Virginia is providing $2.6 million in grant funding for the preservation of thousands of acres at Civil War battlefields.

Wait...we have how many unemployed in the state and they want to give it to battlefield preservation??? Has anyone ever thought this is a war we should be ASHAMED of? Not one we should celebrate???

Definitely paying too much in taxes if they have this much money to throw away at a national disgrace.

LIke the saying goes if you forget the past your bound to repeat it but to honor this particular past event is unconscionable. Might as well wave the rebel flag in everyone's face. Its akin to idiots wearing the Nazi emblem on their arms. Bad enough we have a statue of Lee in the park downtown. To defend a stance on slavery which is really what this amounts to is one reason most yankees look down on the south, there is no defence on this, only shame.
