I do not disagree with that. But with insurance companies, multiple choices, you have a better chance of getting the pull for what you want and need, with the government it will be one plan for everyone and whoever is in charge will be deciding what that plan is.
Remember, in spite of there being a well intended president, there is a mostly religious nutjob congress and house of reps.
Many, many can't afford the premiums the insurance companies charge - therefore, that becomes denied coverage. With Obama's plan you do not have to join, you can get whatever you want or keep what you have and the company you work for will have to contribute - in today's world this is something companies are cutting back on. There are certainly pros and cons to everything -will Obama's plan work? I don't know but I think it might be better than having the insurance companies gouge on premiums-yet denying certain procedures or meds.

Regarding the nutjobs - so very true!

She is no idiot! Why is a college educated woman, who made it to the governor's office and beyond, an idiot. A little over her head, yes, maybe. She had the approval of 60% of the people in Alaska. She fired a top trooper who needed to be fired! She has her faults, yes we all do, but idiocy is not one of them.
Why do we place our faith in Govt to take care of what we be taking care of? Govt can't do it! LBJ declared War on Poverty in 1965. Why are there still poor people? THE GOVT ANSWER DOESN'T WORK! I don't want to have these inept, incompetent, corrupted fools in charge of my health care! The only reason that anyone would is because of fear. Fear of having to pay for a $100,000 operation themselves. So why does an operation cost $100,000? Because the Ins companies will pay that, and raise the rates they charge you! Do you honestly believe it will be different if the govt takes it on? Only instead of ins rates they will raise taxes.
AND The 50% who pay no taxes will become 40% and 30% and then 20% until everyone pays. Then they will raise the percentage of taxes.
We will be faced with endless shortages of "Scarce and precious" drugs and medicines. Now the "Death panels" come into play. Who lives and who dies! Who's politically correct and who isn't! Why would you want to subject yourself to this?
Putting the Govt in charge of health care is the worst answer!

First let me say I think Sarah Palin is an idiot.
There will always be differences in the quality of service a person receives - whether it be medical care or the local grocery store.
I have no idea if a single payer system will work or not - the US hasn't tried it in the medical coverage area yet - medicare is a horse of a different color - lots and lots of fraud there - if we do go the single payer road they will need lots & lots of folks double checking every single line of a bill. I understand what Obama wants & is trying to do but not sure it can work without tons & tons of eyes watching everything.
I personally don't have a clue how to solve this problem but I do know insurance companies are far to big for their britches - they don't give a damn about patient care - only money.

We have different opinions about Sarah. First woman to be elected Gov of Alaska..fantastic! BUT she Quit!! When you start something you should finish it..hard to have confidence in someone who is in a position to actually make a difference-help bring about the changes she claims to want and she bailed! Now all she does is gripe about what's wrong with this country and it's leaders - she had the opportunity to make a real difference and she ran away from the responsibility. The most she does now is complain & point fingers when she had the chance to make a real difference & didn't.
She opposes same sex marriage
She opposes abortion.
She opposes embryonic stem cell research.
She coined the phrase "death panel" this is an attempt to put the fear into people and I see it has worked.
The phrase was criticized on both sides of the political aisle and Politifact named it the "Lie of the Year of 2009.

I don't know what the answer is to the health care problem is..but something has to be done. Your post is full of the "fear" factor - you nor I do not know if anything "awful" will happen. Your post is full of "mights" "shoulds" "coulds" "maybes" that is the FEAR FACTOR and that is one of the things Sarah Palin IS good at.

It seems that Sarah Palin and I are on the same wavelength and you are not. For this you insult her by calling names. We don't know what kind of pressure she was placed under when she quit. What the hell is "Politifact"? From here it sounds like some leftist propaganda screed. I could be wrong!
Yes, Fear is a big factor in anyone's support of govt "Healthcare". The govt paying my medical bills sounds great, Until one looks behind it. It will mean higher taxes, That's a given! Maybe you are part of the 50% of this country that doesn't pay taxes, I am not!(I paid $28K over what I already paid last year) But, Me and the rest of the tax payers will never be enough. They will increase this number. The percentage of non payers will decrease. This transfer of wealth will increase until all will pay.
It will be relatively easy for the the Dr's "Trade union" to get increases. Just lobby Congress! And you and I will not have a single word to say about it!

Idiot - someone who acts in a self-defeating or significantly counterproductive way.
http://politicalhumor.about.com/od/sarahpalin...
Don't confuse education with intelligence.
I got off her band wagon a long time ago. She has nothing but negative comments about Obamacare - just ask her if she or her family ever went to Canada & used their health care. Yep, they did. She is a "do as I say-not as I do" kind of person.
I am neither for nor against Obama's plan - I, personally do not know enough about it yet - but what I do know is some of the facts your posts claim are nothing but rumor. If the so called "death panels" trouble you - just go around the country and find out how many families, doctors & hospitals make that tough decision on a daily basis. My mind is open - I will do more research & make an informed decision - unlike those who have already made up their minds using only rumor - I need facts.

Being a HS dropout and having a Mensa level IQ, I understand exactly what you are talking about. If she did jump the border for cheap medical care of something, I don't blame her! But it's far different to use what's already in place than to advocate for the same things here. Sure she has negative comments about "Obamacare" Don't we all? I want to see it repealed. Get that shit off the books however you can! It cannot fund itself without raising taxes and the numbers of people taxed. There's gonna be a lot of crying in Mudville when a whole bunch of folks who never paid taxes before have to start. That may be the only good thing about it.

So what? Well, where is the fear of the death panels-the concern for sub par care etc etc etc. She felt a single pay system was safe, good and economical for HER family but she doesn't want me & MY family to get the same safe, good, affordable care. Doesn't sound right or fair to me.
I do not have a problem with EVERYONE paying their fair share of taxes.

In your greedy desire to get something free from the Govt, you refuse to acknowledge certain things. You make no distinction between a one time event and a life long, case of virtual bondage to a system that will have perpetual shortages of money, drugs, hospitals and other resources. Where the quality of your health care will be a issue or non-issue in political campaigns as in the UK. Watch BBCs "Question Time". Because of the refusal, I can't go on with this any further. Don't get sick!

I am a trans male who has served my country in silence during operation iraqi feeedom. I am now a veteran. I abide by the laws and do agrew that she should get counseling for GID and should be somewhat seperated from other prison inmates. I do NOT believe that she should get a free sex change though. I work hard to scrounge uo the money for my two suegeries which i may or may not be able to ever afford and have been living as male for over three years why should she be any diffwrent.
