Im Christian and that to me means you only have to accept Christ as your savoir so that God will except you. It quiet simple. I do believe however there is only one bible and one book not another that was written in this country that just dosnt make any sense at all. I love and serve one true lord and thats Jesus Christ

Ok. With or without us, God is still God! He gave us the Bible. This is his word. Forget about denomination! Do you find any mention of the First Congregationalist Church in the new testament? If denominations were of any importance to God, don't you think he would have mentioned this at soome point in the bible? Follow Jesus Christ! And if you are lucky enough to know a bunch of people that believe in the Bible, get a church together that is based on believing what the bible says - not what you want it to say or what others have interpreted it to say.

Hyperdispensationalism is a plague in the Christian community, and lately it is gaining in popularity. The very idea that becoming Christian will somehow help you economically is absurd. Just review the New Testament and find out how many of the apostles died with a fortune to leave behind. Most of the apostles were executed, crucified, tortured, ect. Paul did not leave behind a 401k.

This is ridiculous. Are you all now going to start arguing about how many angels can fit on the head of a pin??? What a waste of time to argue about interpreting the bible. It is, at best, an allegory - at worst, a piece of fiction and propaganda - and it was written by many men over many centuries. If you want to believe in the writings of the Brothers Grimm (wonderful morality tales that they are), that is fine with me, but that doesn't make it the truth. Besides being a guide to personal conduct, such beliefs are also the basis for unthinking prejudice; bible-ists think homosexuals are evil (because OUR book "SAYS SO"), and Grimm-ists think stepmothers are evil (ditto). The "god" of the Old Testament was nasty and vindictive (an ogre?) and the "god" of the New Testament is gentle and compassionate (Prince Charming?). If you want to get something worthwhile out of this book, heed its most important message: the "Golden Rule", a fundamental of all major religions (Christianity does NOT hold the copyright). Lead your own life according to your beliefs - don't eat pork, don't eat cattle, don't eat meat on Friday, whatever - but don't impose your beliefs on others. Do no harm to others, and leave them in peace to follow the dictates of their own conscience.

I recently moved to UT and have been actively searching for a church. I also recently heard a comment from a Priest that LDS is NOT Christian. I had to do some research about why this comment could be true, but what I did find is that the LDS church does NOT believe that Christ is GOD. He is the son of God yes, but not God. They also don't beleive that the Holy Spirit is GOD. They beleive that these are seperate, therefore many gods, not One True God therefore not Chritian.

There are Calvary's in Utah.

They teach the bible and Jesus Christ is Lord.

I am a Christian teen living in Utah, and I find it very tough, from what I have heard Mormons are trying to earn their way up to heaven, I know this because where I live they combine scouts and their young mens together, I do not think that is right. When you accept Jesus into your heart, when you know there is nothing that will stand in the way of god and you, then you will have eternal life. I don't believe you have to get a temple recommendation, be required to serve a mission, and you have to be married at the temple all just to have eternal life with our father in heaven.

Living on the front line's can be hard. You really have to stand on solid biblical ground in order to defend the Christian faith. My Mormon friends use many of the same words in their theology as Christians do (including the word "Christian").

This concerns me because I have seen a mixing of Mormon and Christian theologies and a "watering down" of true biblically based Christianity in Salt Lake City and elsewhere in Utah.

Does this concern others? I think it would be encouraging to hear from other Christians about their personal encounters and experiences over defending the Christian faith. The Bible commands us to "be prepared". How prepared are you?

"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect"

I am an evangelist in st. George utah. You are correct about Mormons. That's why I avoid scriptural debates. Our approach is a modification of Ray Comforts approach. That is ask them if you died tonight are you sure you would go to heaven? They always say I hope so as they are not sure if they have done enough works.I tell them that I know I will would like to know for sure that you will. We have had many professions for Christ doing this. We use a large Wood cross with the words ARE YOU READY.
