Maybe a Hunger strike for two weeks would be more appropriate.

I say boycott "latino" groups. So it's the all latinos stick together club, kind of like a herd mentality. I thought I was an American first not my ethnic backround. So in their if your latino you get a free illegal immigration pass. Absurd.

"We feel we need to do something to attract attention to the fact that we're unhappy and an integral part of this state," said Archie Archuleta, Utah La Raza chairman.

Exclusive: The Truth About 'La Raza'

Quote:

"Behind the respectable front of the National Council of La Raza lies the
real agenda of the La Raza movement, the agenda that led to those thousands
of illegal immigrants in the streets of American cities, waving Mexican
flags, brazenly defying our laws, and demanding concessions.

Key among the secondary organizations is the radical racist group Movimiento
Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan
(MEChA), one of the most anti-American groups in the country, which has
permeated U.S. campuses since the 1960s, and continues its push to carve a
racist nation out of the American West.

One of America's greatest strengths has always been taking in immigrants
from cultures around the world, and assimilating them into our country as
Americans. By being citizens of the U.S. we are Americans first, and only,
in our national loyalties.

This is totally opposed by MEChA for the hordes of illegal immigrants
pouring across our borders, to whom they say:

"Chicano is our identity; it defines who we are as people. It rejects the
notion that we...should assimilate into the Anglo-American melting
pot...Aztlan was the legendary homeland of the Aztecas ... It became
synonymous with the vast territories of the Southwest, brutally stolen from
a Mexican people marginalized and betrayed by the hostile custodians of the
Manifest Destiny." (Statement on University of Oregon MEChA Website, Jan. 3,
2006)

MEChA isn't at all shy about their goals, or their views of other races.
Their founding principles are contained in these words in "El Plan
Espiritual de Aztlan" (The Spiritual Plan for Aztlan):

"In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud
historical heritage but also of the brutal gringo invasion of our
territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the northern land
of Aztlan from whence came our forefathers, reclaiming the land of their
birth and consecrating the determination of our people of the sun, declare
that the call of our blood is our power, our responsibility, and our
inevitable destiny.... Aztlan belongs to those who plant the seeds, water
the fields, and gather the crops and not to the foreign Europeans.... We
are a bronze people with a bronze culture. Before the world, before all of
North America, before all our brothers in the bronze continent, we are a
nation, we are a union of free pueblos, we are Aztlan. For La Raza todo.
Fuera de La Raza nada."

That closing two-sentence motto is chilling to everyone who values equal
rights for all. It says: "For The Race everything. Outside The Race,
nothing."

"HB497 requires police to check the immigration status of people they arrest for felonies and serious misdemeanors. Officers may check the status of those suspected of less serious misdemeanors.

The Bail Reform Act of 1984 created a powerful detention provision that authorizes a state of local police officer to arrest any alien other than a legal permanent resident for a federal “offense,” and to request a local magistrate to temporarily detain the alien for up to ten days without bail while awaiting transfer into federal custody, so long as the alien is found to be a “flight risk” or danger to any other person or the community.”

The authority to make arrest for federal offenses under 18 U.S.C. 3041 extends to state and local law enforcement officers.(U.S. v Bowdach, 561 F.2d 1160, 1168 (5th Cir. 1977) An illegal alien is an inherent flight risk.

Supreme Court Ruling Razes Artificial Fire Wall Between Local Law Enforcement and Immigration Enforcement (Muehler v. Mena) 9-0 Landmark Decision (Washington D.C.—April 1, 2005) In its March 22 ruling in the case of Muehler v. Mena, the Supreme Court removed barriers that prevent local law enforcement officers from questioning the immigration status of individuals they suspect to be in the United States illegally. In this groundbreaking decision, the high Court rejected the claim of Ira Mena, a permanent resident of the U.S., that police had violated the Fourth Amendment while conducting a lawful search of her home.

The Fourth Amendment provides protection by establishing that persons be shielded against unreasonable search and seizure. Mena argued that by questioning her, and the illegal alien detainees about their immigration status during a lawful search, officers violated her Fourth Amendment rights. Mena further claimed that questions asked about her citizenship required officers to have had independent reasonable suspicion regarding the unlawfulness of her immigration status.

Calling a decision by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals “faulty,” the Supreme Court held that “mere police questioning [regarding one’s immigration status] does not constitute a seizure.” The Court continued its landmark ruling on this issue by stating that “the officers did not need reasonable suspicion to ask Mena for her name, date of birth, or immigration status.”

“Whatever legal fig leaf many police departments have been using to justify policies of non-cooperation with federal immigration authorities, has been stripped away by this landmark Supreme Court decision,”

“If local police are barred from cooperating with federal authorities in the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws it is purely a political decision on the part of local politicians and police chiefs. There is no legal barrier to local police inquiring about a person’s immigration status and then acting upon the information they gather.”

I try to respect people who deserve my respect, but this guy is getting on my last nerve. This board would go nuclear, if I replaced the word "white" and "American" in this diatribe.
Actually,it would be a good thing for them to boycott(and that means not using any entitlements either). For those of you who are screaming"We need them." Perhaps you would see,WE DON'T!

That is not going to work. The measure have to be permanent (at least 6 months). And it has to target specific business or companies. Let say "don't get gas in Arco, or don't buy Vons".

I feel they should boycott the entire state of utah arizona tennessee and any other state that wants to enforce these laws that approve racial profiling or as they say lawful immigration laws. Leave them alone legalize them so they can pay taxes that will increase the flow of money into the united states, bottom line use your brains people it's not the fact that they are taking jobs it's the fact they will do what it takes to survive. how many of you so called americans can pick up and move to a place where you know no one to make a better life for yourself and your family? america the land of the free yeah right only if you were born here. Hello racisim goodbye freedom.

Excellent news for Utah! The stores won't smell as bad, there won't be any mexicans screaming across the aisles and there should be less drunken mexicans in the area unless they only buy their hooch from a mexican store?
I always loved our days without mexicans protests in chicago. Most peaceful days of the year for the civilized folk.

They can boycott the entire USA for all I am concerned. They would never try this trash in their own country, they would be killed. Instead of saying thank you for all this country has given them, they act like spoiled children throwing a temper tantrum. They are uneducated and want high paying jobs, they refuse to assimilate which our ancestors did with willingness, they use identity theft to get welfare, they lower the fair wage, we educate their children, provide subsidized housing, food stamps, and free medical, still not enough.
Do they really think if they create Atzlan that it will still be a part of the US? Then it will be a bigger part of the cesspool known as Mexico and they will lose all their welfare because we will be two separate countries.
As for the LDS church is Utah, since they are violating US law with their political waiver, they should lose their tax free status; since they are a political entity; not a church doing charitable work as they destroy workers in their state.
Finally, as the states cut budgets for govt workers, senior citizens, special needs people, why don't we see any cuts for illegals?
