Well, let me quote Harry Reid, the senator from Nevada: You are entitled to your own opinion, but not to your own facts. I don't criticize Saudi Arabia for killing people. Most likely they have an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. I'm talking that if a nation proclaims to the four corners of the Earth to be Christian mand that our laws are based on the precepts of the Judaic-Christianity, that means that the government's goal should be redemption, not taking some one's life. Do you recall how the Alabama supreme court resigned because he refused to take down the display of the Ten Commandments? You missed the point altogether, if we are not as "Christian" as republicans proclaim, don't you think they know the separation of church and state? But, they always love to cherry pick the Constitution and religion and there lies their problem and yours. If other nations more advanced than us in human and civil rights, shouldn't we beahve like them and not like a totalitarian government? You still don't get it? I'm sorry to see that you have hot air only between your ears.<quoted text>
Separation of church and state, remember that one? Christianity isn't executing this man, the state is.
Also, forgiveness and just punishment are two entirely different things.

Our nation doesn't proclaim that, we are secular, are we not? That judge in Ala resigned because our secular government demanded it - separation of church and state.
Capital punishment is not banned by the Constitution, so how is there any cherry picking there?
BTW, the "eye for an eye" thing comes from Christianity, so I fail to see how that would apply to Saudi Arabia.
It would also appear that you feel entitled to your own facts. If my previous post was not factual in any way, please show me where instead of bioviating about how our secular nation needs to be more "Christian."

I hate to break it to you, but according to republicans, which most likely you are one of them, even though I think you are closer to tea partier, but I digress. Republicans, as I was saying, proclaim that this nation was founded on the principles of the Judeaic-Christian precepts, ergo, the Christianity bit. I knew, even before you mentioned where an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth came from, but that was before Christ came to save the world. Otherwise, how would you explain His commandment of the golden rule. That, my dear nephyte, states to love thy neighbor, not to kill him and what about that other one of turning the other cheek? If many "Christians" believed like you, I'm sure that there wouldn't be any saints on Earth and Mother Teresa wouldn't be a mother but a killer. If you went to religious education, I demand that you go back and claim a refund. Tell them Charlie sent you. If you don't believe in Christianity, why bring it up? You sound to confused to make any sense. Just read the New Testament and maybe you will see that Jesus Christ is redemption and forgiveness. Maybe you are confusing the state, which is man made, with religion which is God based. The two don't mix. BTW, this class is on me, the next ones I will charge you for it.
