Is there a way to volunteer to be on the squad? We have too many inmates abusing the appeals process in their attempts to prolong what they took from someone else. One bullet costs less than $3.00 and yet we pay almost $60,000 a year to house and feed them. Definitely not right.

firing squad?
whos idea was this?
or is this the usual method for utah executions?
requested by the prisoner?
Why does it matter what he wants?
all i can think of is this is either a way to caost the state more money or this scum wants his fifteen minutes.
does he deserve either?
there should be another word for commonsence thats easyer for some thinking people to understand

Remember he did this. We have proof and a conviction. He asked for the death penalty.
I am not for or against the Death penalty. But as a nation if they know what was going to happen to them and it was in a timely manner and they new our broken system would act and follow thru to enforce the laws people would think before they do the crime.
The only people who benefit from this long drawn out process is the people your tax dollars are paying.(Judges, court appointed defenders, law enforcement) Which are being paid dearly to draw this out. Remember he was convicted by this system take care of it. Make a 2 to 4 year time limit for appeals and make it happen.
The victims familiies should not have to deal with this 20 or 30 years. Our system has failed him and the families.
Do the Crime pay the time. This truely dosen't happen. Make our broken system work. Fast and efficently. I have worked with the system and its broken. Come on people demand they fix this. Stop the appeals if they do the crime and you have proof don't let it be plee bargained by lawyers.
Maybe this would stop the crimes before they happened.
I have seen people who have been convicted 5 to 10 times on a DUI and they still have spent no jail time and I see them back out driving again. License or no license this doesn't stop them. Stop letting people out of jails early and make it a bad place to be. the convicted do not have it bad in this country.

Go Arizona you want to be tough on illegal emigration.
But we drop charges on Warren Jeffs. He made thousands of people suffer under his watch. That’s why we have trouble with emigration in the USA. Send them home and make them come over legally. We don't care if they are here. It’s how they came here. We are all immigrants that came from somewhere some time in our families. But it needs to be legal. If they cheat steal and come across the boarders illegally. What kind of citizens will the be while here?
Shoot Gardner if that’s what he asked for and let him pay for what he did.

What is so barbaric about this? I think they, the criminals, should be beheaded. I will gladly be a volunteer as a shooter. I would prefer that he not have a hood on his head to where he came see it coming. I am a great marksman and would aim for a leg, then an arm, then an ear, then one right between the eyes.Make this scum suffer first.Five rounds in the chest is too quick.

Quick question: Killing this guy will bring back to life the people he took when he did his bad deeds?

To me, death penalty is not about justice, is about rage, revenge, retaliation, vengeance, vindictiveness or whatever you want to call it. It is something to make apparently “feel good”(an eye for an eye) to the families of the victims but that actually doesn't bring anything but more hatred.

Lastly, I laugh when I read people writing about taxpayers' money to keep people in jail. Jail, ladies and gentlemen is not a 5 stars hotel. People there get raped, abused, beaten and who know what else. They are not having fun in there with your tax money.

Regards.

You know..what he did was WRONG... he chose the way he was to die. So it wasn't our choice. Just because he says he has changed he should live out his life in prison????? We need to shorten their time in prison like in the old west.. when they were found guilty and sentenced to be hung, they were not sometimes hours later... victims rights??
Looks like to me it is killers rights..he still killed someone. let him die, he will pay on the other side when he meets the ULTIMATE judge, GOD..

I assume that is so the shooters will not know for certain if they actually killed the man.
Either for legal reasons, or for their consciences.
