Was Baby Jesus an Illegal Immigrant?

There are 2203 comments on the The American Spectator story from Dec 23, 2011, titled Was Baby Jesus an Illegal Immigrant?. In it, The American Spectator reports that:

At Christmas time, should the Nativity story be interpreted as a tale of solidarity with illegal immigrants? Some religious voices, anxious to push some version of liberalized immigration policy as a Christian imperative, describe Jesus and the Holy Family as the most premier of illegal immigrants.

What a stretch! They, ministers, are saying that a 14 year old pregnant girl crossing the border to be with her boyfriend in Ala is like Mary and Joseph and the baby Jesus. Geeze!

First of all, in mexico, there are a LOT of 12, 13, and 14 year old pregnant girls with boyfriends everywhere. Question: Which one qualifies as an immaculate conseption?!!! lol

Nice try pro illegals and libertards!!!

At the time of Jesus's birth there were NO immigration laws anywhere in the world. Trying to play off Joseph and Mary as "illegal immigrants" really belongs on Anderson Cooper's "Ridiculist", talk about a stretch.....I think it stretched so far it broke.

Leave it to liberals to play the religious card, but forget about how the Priests "played" with the little boys they were around. This is just another lie put out by the church that leaves no "boys" behinds.

Only in the world of illegal aliens would they rejoice at a 14-yr-old being pregnant. Do they consider the physical, emotional, social and moral issues? A 14-yr-old is unable to give consent. This is rape; pure and simple. A tragedy to anchor themselves to the USA! How sad!

For groups to combine politics with people religious beliefs I think is a load of CR@P. And for any religious groups that have tax exempt status do to the separation of state and religion and voice anything about politics should have that exempt taken away. And for this illegal girl tag her and ship her back, we have enough CRIMINALS in this country we don't need other countries Criminals here.

Well, the Jew king ordered the killing of all newborn in Jerusalem so maybe Jesus was both antiJew and antiRoman?

Recalled that Jesus travelled everywhere not as a jew but as a citizen of nation not of this Earth (something that pissed off the Romans).

So I do believe that Jesus tought he was alien and given the treatment he got from the authorities, he was! An alien caught in a human body treated as an illegal!

This sounds very familiar!!!

A little humor I once seen.

10 proofs that Jesus was a Mexican.

1) His mother was named Maria.

2) His father was named Jose.

3) The son of Gods name is Jesus.

4) Jesus was born out of wedlock.

5) He was born a barn.

6) He was bilingual.

7) The authorities always harassed him.

8) Jesus was always entering Countries illegally.

9) Jesus was in a gang, they were called,'The Disciples"

10) Jesus was given an unfair trial & was put to death!

Egypt was a Roman province as was Galilee. There would not have been any restrictions to travel from one to the other or from either to Rome for that matter.

I am tired of people asking if Jesus was an illegal immigrant. Illegal immigration laws did not exist when Jesus was traveling around. But for sure Jesus was an illegal alien because he once said: "I am not from this world"
Can somebody tell me if I am wrong?

I understand your sense of humor, but there were no "beaners" before Jesus.

Back when Jesus was still alive, there was no such thing as a "Illegal Alien", or "Illegal Immigrant" as those are modern day terminology.
