I suggest "inside the beltway" is synomymous with "national park" and should be returned to Maryland.

The death toll—twice as high as in 2011—is on pace to be even higher this year, according to county officials. Nineteen bodies have been discovered so far, even before triple-digit summer temperatures sear in South Texas, raising the danger of the arduous crossings through Brooks County's 944 square miles.

Actually, Washington D.C. was built over a swamp and, judging by how the government does it's work, it's still a swamp.
I really love it when some bonehead comes on here with some stupid statement like that. He said continent which implies "borders". The people who dont live in the 3 states that care about border security should keep their anidotes to themselves or atleast learn when to express their freedom of speech or exercise their right to remain silent..... I've read comments about us wanting a "Berlin wall" on the border and other such nonsense. We want the border secured without a bunch of BS. I dont care if they take the money from the damnear defunct obamacare to get it. This crap going on in DC with immigration reform is as much BS as it's name. It should be called "Illegal Alien Disposition" or "Border Security Bill".....I wonder if we should build a wall around DC, or maybe a moat? They need to get out of our business.

This is awkward. A woman who lives in Mexico and works in San Diego called the cops on herself when she apparently unknowingly transported 30 pounds of marijuana across the border.

According to a report by NBC New York, the unnamed 33-year-old drove her car to work Friday morning, arrived early and was sitting in her car in a parking lot around 4 a.m. when two unidentified men approached her car and began removing packages from underneath it.

The driver surprised the men, who got in their car and drove off. She called the police, who discovered 30 pounds of pot divided into six packages attached by heavy-duty magnets to the undercarriage of the vehicle.

Who put the drugs there—the woman said it wasn't her—remains a mystery. Police tell NBC New York that no arrests have been made.

Sunday marked the first time that a gate in the older of the two fences at the United States-Mexico border near Friendship Park was opened since the fence went up almost 20 years ago.

The historic event came on Children's Day, a holiday in Latin American countries. Some participants told 10News they think the border fence's day are numbered.

A joint investigation by the Washington Monthly and the Investigative Fund at The Nation Institute has found over the past five years U.S. border agents have shot across the border at least 10 times, killing a total of six Mexicans on Mexican soil. The killings have gone unpunished after a court ruled the Mexican victims have no standing to sue in U.S. courts since they died on their own soil. Investigative reporter John Carlos Frey writes: "The picture that emerges from this investigation is of an agency operating with thousands of poorly trained rookies and failing to provide the kind of transparency, accountability, and clear rules of engagement that Americans routinely expect of law enforcement agencies." Frey joins us to discuss the shootings and why he fears that the current immigration consensus in Washington on "border security" could increase Mexico’s civilian toll.

And the Border Patrol has shot those idiot not just from crossing by trying to kill the agents who were there trying to capture them. John Carlos Frey is a fifth column writer with an agenda. These Border Patrol personnel are on the job protecting the American Border. How Many Border Patrol agents have died and their deaths have gone unpunished because the perpetrators were able to melt back into the mass-less face of Mexico? We need to secure the entire Southern border with ruthlessness not seen since 1846. IT should be shoot then ask questions, not ask questions and get shot at.
