You're much too bewitched by your delusions of majority. It's time to return to Earth and give up on those fairy-castle, feminist pipe dreams for Texas.
You mean I should just shut up and NOT encourage women in Texas who value the right to make their own sexual and reproductive decisions to vote Rick Perry and his anti-choice politician pals OUT of office next year? Not a chance, Debbie.

I'll go on encouraging women in red states like Texas all I want. Whether or not YOU approve of my doing so is irrelevant.

Yeah, just think some of the fathers with fanatical religious beliefs think they own their daughters, probably wish they could sell them like back in the good old days. Very important to insure virginity for a good price......cause we know how religious men value virginity.....in women that is.
Agreed. The militant male religionists don't like it that women have "so many rights." I have no doubt whatsoever that they'd like nothing more than to take as many of our rights away if they possibly could.

This draconian legislation aimed at severely restricting access to both contraception and abortion is the first step in that BACKWARD direction. Another step is trying to make voting much harder, which some Republican-controlled states are doing already.

Wrong. Society has the right to tell you who and what you can intentionally kill. Societies can and always have applied penalties to killers of innocent human beings. Your sick selfishness will not rule.
I support your right to speak your opinion. However, you will never have the moral right to decide what any woman will do about her pregnancies, whatever the legal status of abortion at any one time or place. Your approval or disapproval of our actions is of no importance. Your assessment of our characters is likewise of no consequence. That's just the way it is, my friend.

Good job for the prolife crowd. Drove business right to Gosnell. And yes that is in the Grand Jury report as well.
That isn't telling me that they couldn't have gone elsewhere or that Gosnell was their only recourse.

This excerpt from the report seems to contradict your "Good job for the prolife crowd" note:

"Instead, the Pennsylvania
Department of Health abruptly decided, for political reasons, to stop inspecting abortion
clinics at all. The politics in question were not anti-abortion, but pro. With the change of
administration from Governor Casey to Governor Ridge, officials concluded that
inspections would be “putting a barrier up to women” seeking abortions."

Um, no.

Tom Ridge is 'pro-choice'. That's what the report says in the excerpt I provided.

Casey was 'pro-life'.

No doubt true, but it's fallacious in context of the Gosnell matter to pin laxity of inspection on a 'pro-life Republican'.

There wasn't one in charge in PA at the time.

Regardless of the political affiliation of the one(s)'in charge', failure to inspect ANY outpatient clinic routinely, thoroughly, and consistently is a failure....and it's not just the 'abortion clinics' that get a pass.

Amazing...the one aspect of clinic regulations which is equitable among varying types of clinics, is their terrible enforcement: the lack of routine, thorough, and consistent inspections....for whatever reason.

I suspect, however, that the Governor of Pennsylvania will be taking a lot of heat over this, and that said situation may change.

One lives in hope.

No one 'elects' to abort a healthy 20 week pregnancy, fool. The legal 20 week abortion is of a fetus that looks more like this:

http://www.advimaging.org/images/US%202D%20ba...

Now, you may be strong enough, or masochistic, or sadistic, enough, to attempt gestation to term of a fetus which will be born without a frontal lobe....but to what end?

I would never compel a woman to give birth to a child with this sort of future.

Your source, which you point us to yet again, says otherwise.

Still, Casey presented as the "anti-abortion" administration, Ridge as the "pro-abortion" administration.

These people don't care what happens after they force women to carry unwanted pregnancies to term. In fact, they are the same demographic that zealously supports budget cuts to children and family services, SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, SSI, etc.

And what was wrong with all those thousands of babies that Gosnell aborted and killed well into gestation and beyond.

According to him he was doing what he was paid to do. Get rid of these babies that the mothers wanted killed. That's what they went to him for . He had a huge business with clients from many surrounding states. He was only charged with one woman's death.
