I have to register every 90 days, simply bc/ of the age of my "victim" where as it use to be 1x per year, or anytime I move... Now its evey 90 days period... also says that Im not allowed to go to the local park, or swimming pool... I have 3 kids, that would love to go to the park... the cop that did my registration papers this months, says... i would have to call this number and ask someone else, if its ok. Pretty much saying its up to whatever cop was around.
secondly, my daughter is in 1st grade, and has a upcoming field trip, my understanding is... i can go on the field trip as long as i do not speak to anyone else's child

The father of my child is a registered sex offender. He was charged ten years ago when he was 19. Our daughter is due in July, my question is does he have full rights to her like anyone else and would we have problems from child protective services? Someone please help. I want him to be a part of his daughters life. He is not a predator. Just a horny boy that was lied to by a young female.

my husband is a registered sex offender for something stupid he did when he was younger. We were recently married and now my landlord wants to evict me ( I have lived here for 10 years) because of his status as a RSO. I believe this is illegal as well as unfair. I have been spending days researching the laws on this. She has not yet served papers which means i'm sure she is having a hard time getting them because I believe that it is illegal to discriminate for this reason. Our lawyer has said the same thing but it just doesn't seem fair. Everyone, myself included at one point, always thinks that those on that are registered are monsters. Now I will agree that some are however my husband is not and neither are the others that live across the street and just down the street from me. This is how I am unsure why in the hell she would try to do it when there are at a minimum of 6 others in our community who have been convicted of worse crimes than being drunk and screwing someone under age who said she was older. Not that he should have anyway, I'm not trying to make him seem wrongly accused at all but he did his time and registers when hes supposed to now he has to pay our state every year because our governor seems to think its a good way to get more money. problem being that because of a**holes like my landlord and others out there its hard for them to find jobs that will allow them to work. I'm just so pissed off right now, I cry myself to sleep every night wondering what the hell we are going to do if she somehow finds a way to actually evict us. we don't have the money to move and both of us are just a year out from filing bankruptcy but have decent paying jobs so we don't qualify for help. so its like what the hell are we supposed to do? I'm at a loss...

im kind of in the same boat as you. me and my son live at my moms and my husband has to register so she is kicking me and my son out so we are trying to find a place but everywhere i look they are discriminating RSO's and my application has been denied at some places because of it and i dont make enough to be able to really afford anything and we dont have our own vehicle so that dont help so we are at a loss too.

This is a letter I wrote to try and restore my account that was suspended by the website Expertlaw.com . They began by editing my posts that might potentially help someone who was subject to the Sex Offender Registry. When I spoke out to warn people that the moderator was doing this, she edited all my posts and banned me from my account. I did not break any laws nor did I condone any criminal activity, I just wanted to educate people with the truth so that darkness doesn't prevail. I have not heard back from them. The person who I perceived to be the moderator told me I was self serving. Keep that in mind lol

"Sex offender Registry law is in its infancy, people from all walks of life with a broad range of offenses are being forced to participate in an unpleasant regulatory scheme, legal or not, justified or not, people should be able to voice concerns about unpleasant truths in our world in the interest of bringing things to light.

Darkness is where bad things hide, many people seek to keep sex offenders in the darkness by not informing "the people" what a sex offender truly is: a person who made a very bad mistake.

"The People" have a sense they are doing good and ridding the world of evil when in fact they are just creating more darkness.

Laws should be enacted for the benefit of all, if the few are aggrieved by an unjust law, then self service is their only recourse."

Anybody got any advice for a 33 year old, 5 time felon (not sexual offenses). a registerd offender for a misdemeanor possession of child pornography, and little to no job experience? Im in Michigan. Tier 1. I want to move downstate but am unsure where to start. I've never been harassed but have some anxiety about being in a big city. Am trying to get my life straightened out, get off drugs and be more of a positive role model for my son. Ive only found one rehab who would accept me and no transitional houses or halfway houses. It seems like they'd want a sex offender sober and off drugs. I'm not complaining as I got support in the narcotics/alcoholics anonymous community. I just want some advice as to what I should do with my life. I don't want to end up killing myself. Oh. As for how I'm supporting myself now? Well I got a good friend and a great mother. But they'll be gone someday so I need to do something quick. One more question though... Has anybody that doesnt have to register for life gotten off the registry after your time was up and then had things improve? I sure hope so. BTW - much love to the lifers. I can't imagine how y'all deal.

I was convicted 24 years ago for having sex with a "willing" teenage girl. Just bc I didnt want to be her boyfriend her mom pressed charges against me... The police report states, the girl admitted lying to me about her age. My lawyer said.. There should have never been any charges, bc if she would have been the age she stated it would have been within the 3 yr age limit law... and i would have been "safe". But now my life has been ruined bc of some out of control teen who was mad at her mom, and had priors of doing this to other guys. I have no other sex crimes in my history yet... I will always be labelled, and will have to register every 90 days for the rest of my life... based on a lie. This is just setting us sex offenders up for failure. This is not justice.
I am sorry..

Ok you guys who had consensual sex with your girlfriends only a few yrs younger then you and those of you who drank a little much and peed in public you should be Givin a break. Those of you child molesters and rapist sexual assault people out there. Why are you whining about your life being ruined. You ruined the lives of your victims forever. You can't take back what you did. I'm a soldier and a Christian and I don't care about your little bull one liner hypocrisy arguments. You should be kept away from society and rightfully so as a matter of fact in Iraq and Afghanistan your behavior is not a violation and you getting sodomised by another grown man is not a violation and they love light skinned men. So ya go to Iraq. You would be a grown man's sex slave. How would you like to be raped molested. Quit crying and accept your punishment. You should have controlled your thoughts. Tie an anchor to your ankle and cast into to sea if you harm a child. Eye for an eye. Again sorry for you guys who got a bad deal thank the perverts out there who justify their sick habits. And I fought for freedom I in no way feel violated by these laws so keep the soldiers the he'll out of it.

My father in law was convicted of rape in the early 70s not for cable he was a truck driver and picked up a girl and said put out or get out so she put out. He was living in Cali at the time and he saw sentences to 9 yrs so after his release he was not put on a registry and still is not. Now he lives in NY now NY cps is trying to keep him away from my children. Is there anything we can do about it. He has never reoffended and he has never touched children. My kids have never been touched. They were indicated back in the 90s for child abuse but there was never any evidence to prove anything.but there kids were taken away and ever since he moved to NY they have been trying to get him to registered.the county we live in is trying to rail road him into jail again.

After having my two daughter stolen from me, I moved to Missouri... I am now married for the 2nd time, and have three kids (one from 1st marraige) I have sole custody of my daughter who is 7. Plus I have two boys from this 2nd marriage of 4 years... This state not only gave me custody of my daughter (knowing my past), but gae me sole custody. Her mother has had nothing to do with her for 2 years... I am not a bad person, or a sex offender by any means. Just a guy who made a mistake under false pretenses. I highly doubt that the "vicitm" is feeling much like a victim 24 years later. She lied to me, then told her mom about it, bc I told her to go home, i didnt want to be her boyfriend... and now my two kids I lost, and I are paying the price from something that charges should have never been issued.

The counties in the State of Iowa violate state law... Check out this link: http://mike.adnet.com/blog...

After being removed from the Iowa Sex Offender List, county idiots try to renew it and go further to take my computer & say that I canY t travel, use the Internet, etc...

The media doesn't get involved... I am trying to get Iowa Governor Terry Branstad to toss the nonsense and award damages for harassment, character defamation, and illegally arrest and search/seizure...

I was convicted of rape in the 3rd degree which is the same as statutory rape... I was 19 (1990) and had consentual sex with a teenager who lied to me about her true age (she even admitted in the police report she lied to me about her age)... took a plea bargain, Felony dropped to A misd, 18 months unsupervised probation, court cost, no jail time, registering was never included in my deal... 10 years later the state police send me a letter saying i have to... had to ever since... been 24 years since conviction.13 years after my conviction(2013) the state used this charge to say I was unfit to have kids, they stole my new born child and put her up for adoption..

XSX, If she was 15 or older, you could fall into the Romeo and Juliet category. There are different and less requirements for you to abide by if this is the case. If there was no more than 4 years between you it is possible to have it overturned.

All tagged sex offenders need to pray to GOD that the people that make these outrageous laws for convicted sex offenders - PRAY that their sons and daughters get arrested for a sex offense so they can witness first hand the unjust humiliation sex offenders undertake on a daily basis.
PRAY!!!!!
