Aside from giving you the terms and conditions when you sign up for the service with Stream there is really no way to give you an excat satisfaction report.

I do work for stream and I would like the oppertunity to save you money on your electric bill...HOWEVER I want my customers to feel like they are making the right decision. So I went searching for a few customers and I found this site..
http://www.electricitybid.com/electricity/ind...
I think it will give you the best idea out there without talking to an actual stream customer.
Also, you can go to www.powertochoose.com .
The main focus behind Stream/ignite is building the relationship with your customers. Best example I can give is if you had two gas stations on opposite corners, 1-you have been friends with the owner all your life and he is offering gas a 2.99 a gallon. On the other side of the street you have a corporate gas station that is offering it at 2.79 a gallon who would you go with.

That's the premise...with that in mind would you be intrested in becoming my customer?

As many of you know, the electricty industry has been deregulated in many states including Texas. When looking for electricity choices in Texas, NY & IL please be wary of Ambit Energy. Executives have been made aware that one of their reps, Bob Pearson, is soliciting potential reps for $5,000 -$10,000 in order for him to build their Ambit business.

Chris Chambless claims this is against Ambit policies and even though more than one person has reported Mr. Pearson's tactics, they have chosen to let him stay in Ambit:

Mr. Pearson was exposed on NBC Channel 5 for scamming thousands in another scam he was involved in this year:

Stay away form Corpus Christi and the area that is called the "Coastal Bend" area of Texas. Electric rates are insane here and with the hot humid weather you'll be using plenty of it. Our air conditioner was still running through mid-November.

Let me put it to you this way, during July and August with the price of electricity here you could be making payments on a second home for less. That is no kidding.

You can pay .15 to .18 per kilowatt hour here. Then Texas has all of these add on fees, meter reading fees, stupid Texas fees. I think you get the picture.

The only other place in Texas I know about is El Paso. El Paso, Texas is REASONABLE since they are not deregulated (yet). Last I looked I think it was something like .07 per kilowatt hour off season and something like .08 or .09 during the summer. If you are coming from some states even that may be a few cents over what you are paying now.

In case you haven't heard -- Texas+Energy+Corruption.

If they have it at the local video rental watch "The Smartest Guys in the Room" about Enron. You'll love watching how they manipulated electricity in California and they didn't even care that people were dying. That is the mentality here.

You can be sure there is (are) some corrupt politicians in Texas making plenty of money from the nearly double per kilowatt hour rates we pay here.

Then we have the local water and gas utilities in Corpus Christi that the local mayor Henry Garrett and his city council clan raise at the drop of a hat.

It's not worth it and we'll soon be gone from Texas.

You know, I hear these gripes about TXU every day of the week. I am an independant energy broker for two third party electric companies. The companies I represent sell energy for A LOT LESS than TXU to both residential customers and commercial. Our residential rate is 8.95 cents per KWh +TDSP of $4.95 per month and &5.50 service charge + tax. On a 1500 KWh bill the all-in price is only 9.66 cents per KWh before taxes!$144.70!!! But, and here's MY QUESTION, Why are so many folks so reluctant to switch???
please advise what is that 'cheap company you use ? im DAVE at [email protected]

There is a company out there that will price protect your electric rate (commercial and residential) for 5 years! I am so tired of Reliant, TXU, Direct Energy coming in at 2 year max on holding the rates. The company is US Energy Savings Corporation out of Houston. Their current residential all-in rate is $.1315 per kwh. This rate is guaranteed to not increase for 5 years. The commercial rate changes every Wednesday. To find out more information go to www.price-protect-your-electric-rate.com .

Since deregulation, my electric bills have tripled. I kept hearing deregulation/competition would be working if only more of us would switch. Well, on 3/2008 I elected to switch from First Choice Power to TXU. Sure, its only going to save me $10 a month but I thought that's better than nothing right? Well,in early April I received my final bill from First Choice Power which to my surprise included an early termination fee of $200. When I called First Choice Power to ask what in the heck this fee was, they explained that I was under contract with them to pay this fee if I switched within 24 mos of 6/5/06.(Mind you they took over my bills in 2002 from TX/New Mexico power shortly after deregulation and I never requested them as a provider or agreed to any contract). Apparently they can automatically put you under this contract without your consent or signature. Neat huh? I believe the electric utilites have found a better way to retain business than competitive pricing. I currently have filed a formal complaint with the PUC but, I won't be holding my breath. Someone told me later it was written into the deregulation legislation that this type of maneuver is perfectly legal. If anyone else has fallen into this trap and figured a way out of it, let me know.

When your electrity usage started to go up, did that by any chance coincide with them changing out your old electro-mechanical meter - simple workings, you can see wheels turning - for a digital meter - mysterious black box with REMOTELY programmable registers (memory locations) including ones that control the rate the meter advances?

Anybody here with National Power - just went belly-up, but apparently are still trying to collect bills, oh, and shredding their records:

If you are still shopping around for low electricity rates coupled with good customer service, I recommend checking out Affordable Energy - http://www.OurPowerBiz.com - I'm saving at least 20% on my bill vs. my previous provider and the AE customer service team is great to work with. AE is also now the exclusive residential provider for Permafrost, a patented technology that reduces the energy usage of your A/C unit and provides a more comfortable room temp at a reasonable degree.

Donít use Commerce Energy!! Their customer service is VERY POOR and they have no customer communication!! Donít trust a California company to provide you with Texas power!!

I was a Commerce Energy customer for years and without any notification, my rates jumped to .225 per kilowatt!! I called Commerce Energy several times and after being on hold for hours, I finally was able to speak to a rude representative that eventually hung up on me in less than 5 minutes. Looking at my Commerce Energy bill, I did find the URL to the Public Utility Commission of Texas; http://www.puc.state.tx.us/ocp/complaints/com... . I filed a complaint and received a reply back within a couple of days. I also received a letter in the mail from the Public Utility Commission of Texas starting that Commerce Energy had 21 days to reply to my complaint. I havenít heard anything back yet, but it hasnít been 21 days.

Why did I file a complaint with the Public Utility Commission of Texas? Commerce Energy illegally switched my electrical rates without any notification. Commerce Energy has my home number, work number and my email address, but they didnít even try contacting me. Nothing was even stating on my electrical bill. My electrical consumption is anywhere from 3,500 kilowatts to just a little over 4,000 kilowatts per month.(I'm wondering if I have a bad electrical meter) An electrical bill over $800 per month is just crazy!! I contacted 15 electrical companies and finally found Ambit Energy. Ambit Energy's rate in my area is .13 per kilowatt and it didnít cost me anything to switch over. BTW, the other 14 electrical companies wanted a $450 to $500 deposit; Ambit Energy DID NOT request a deposit!:) The best part about switching to Ambit Energy is the referral program they have that can reduce my electrical bill to zero dollars every month!! Ambit Energy rates are as low as 11.8; depending on zip code. Take a look at http://eZap.JoinAmbit.com .

There is no question fraud is involved and I suspect there is massive government collusion with much money passing under the table in perks or outright cash or perhaps kick backs on billing or "discounts" on the electric bills of legislators, regulators, bureaucrat's. There is NO competition and NO regulation in Texas for electricity. I have a 3,100 sq ft house. Because our home owners association (The Lawn Nazi's) will not allow window air conditioning I can only put three units on the first floor, in the back of the house where they cannot see it. Thus, at night I can run one in the bedroom (12,000 Btu) and the rest of the house remains hot (often 90 degrees). In the day, when I am home, I run a 15,000 Btu unit in the family room and a 8,000 Btu unit in the kitchen. This way I can survive for only $260 per month in the summer. The rest of the house I insisted on being gas. I am checking to see if a gas powered generator would cost less than the electric bill for all mu electric needs so I can use the the big house air conditioner units. My gas bill has hardly changed in 8 years and is still around $17 to $20 in the summer.

Finally, for that person in California, the property taxes FAR EXCEED any I have ever paid anywhere in the USA. That includes, Maine, Conn., Colorado, California, Washington, and Mass., and exceeds them all even when income taxes are added. Note: Washington also has no income taxes (like Texas)and the schools are better, crime lower and the weather MUCH better. As soon as I can I will move back to Colorado, Washington, or Oregon.

Finding the lowest deregulated Texas electricity rates can be a difficult process due to the number of Texas electricity providers, unfamiliar contract terms, and a variety of product types available. That is why using an Energy Brokerage company like National Energy Brokers is a great idea for everyone in the deregulated Texas electricity market. They offer an entirely free service that can help Texans save up to 30% on Texas electricity. http://www.nationalenergy.net
