That lady looked too big for the ride.

They have a minimum size, a real measurment for safety but no similar maximum chart. If a person that big was sitting next to me on any amusement ride I'd hop off in a flash.

Americans have become so big this issue needs to be addressed. Similar to riding on a plane.

First of all MOONJACK it doesn't matter how big a person is they have a right to have fun with their children. They have a right to have fun and enjoy life to the fullest. These amusement parks may need to consider better harnesses for bigger people. She paid her money to go to that park she had a right to ride the damn ride. I have heard awful things people are posting on the web about how big she was and making fun of her weight. Cracking jokes freakin terrible. Her children watched as she fell. You people are common. Sad.

That woman was obese and if she had of been told she was too large to ride, she would have thrown a freakin fit.

And you think the park should pay no concern and allow anyone, even a 35 pound 3 year old on the ride? The cars waere designed in Germany where the obesity epidemic is not as outrageous as here. There was no harness, it was a locking T bar and it appeared unabe to catch and lock because something was in the way. If you want to pretend it was a bible she was holding that's your right but as a realist I call it as I see it.

She should have been excluded from the ride before she got on, no different than a sight impaired person being excluded as a driver.

The park is lucky nobody else was hurt in the incident. I guarantee the weight and size issue is behind what happened and limits will start to be enforced.

You didn't have to be there, her pictures are all over the news, papers and web. She was huge, over 50 yrs. old and had no business on a ride of this magnitude. In addition, it is posted that if you have certain medical conditions, DO NOT RIDE! anybody of this size for sure had some of the medical conditions listed and I hope some of these illegal Mexicans who think they are going to get rich off this are proven wrong and deported. They need to pay Six Flags back for all the money they are losing for having to shut the ride down.

It's the law of physics and has nothing to do with ethnicity. The park was neglegent in not excluding her.

well ok racist...OR since this theme park let her ride the ride when they shouldn't have they should be sued. They were negiligent and therefore should pay the family for this tragic event, regardless if her being over weight was the reason.

I am from the area and ridden this coaster one time last year. I do remember seeing signs saying you must be at least 48 inches tall, if you have HBP or heart conditions/devices not to ride and ride at your own risk. I don't recall seeing anything about weight. I weighed 110 lbs. and 63 inches tall and felt like I was going to fly out. That T-bar restraint, IMO was not enough. I felt like I was holding on so hard that I was actually pushing myself upward and it was not a good feeling at all. the thing was fast and very rough and thank God, I had a guy with me who did weigh about 200 and had his arm across me. I never want to ride it again.

Decided to go to the Park Site and see if anything was mentioned about size and weight. There is!

RIDE RESTRICTIONS

Safety is our number-one priority. Guests with certain body proportions, or of certain heights and/or weights, may not be able to enjoy certain rides if the safety restraints will not operate as designed. Specific ride information is available at the ride and at Guest Relations. For your convenience, a one-time height check is available at Guest Relations so our smaller guests don't have to be re-measured at each attraction.
