Sourcing the DailyKos for unbiased information about anything? I'm ashamed of you.

Your right about the Texas education environment, but being ashamed is going a little far. Right now here are the main. problems:

* Texas school systems are overwhelmed with non-English speaking students and are significantly behind those who do speak English.

* People like Bill Gates and Hillary Clinton who have managed to convince Texas educators to use their "standardized testing", like TAKS and STAARS, for a fee of course, have handcuffed the school boards, district administrators, and teachers to a failed, and expensive, accountability model.

* The there are the ego curriculum's like C-SCOPE-which assigns a student the class work for the day, then tells them to use whatever resources they can find available. This is all while the 'teacher' stands there with an I-POD and downloads the classes progress. Some schools have even gone so far as to take 'lecture' out of the classroom. Can you imagine what happens to a Freshman when that Freshman walks into their first English 101 class in college-and it's a lecture class?

* Then there is the superintendent from the Dallas ISD several years ago that misspent $230,000,000.00 in one year. Same issues with a number of ISD's in Texas.

But things are on the path to change how the business of education is done now. By the way, Texas has a higher than US average in graduations. But, according to a survey of the vast majority of colleges and universities, 25% of college Freshman deal with their Freshman year with few problems. 75%, however, fail at least one class, or are put on Scholastic Probation, or quit, or worse.

Oh, and about Muslim communist-evolution classes? We don't have any that a kid can't reject off-hand. See, it's just pass the accountability test.
