Rep. Larry Turner of Memphis Dead

Tennessee Rep. Larry Turner is dead at the age of 69. House Speaker Pro Tempore Lois DeBerry told The Associated Press she was informed by the Memphis Democrat's wife that he died Friday morning after a long battle with an unspecified illness.

I'm heart-torned to hear about the death of Mr.Turner.He was my ex-landlord a couple of years back on Carnes Street.My condolences goes to the entire Turner Family and May God Bless him as he Head on his Journey to such a Wonderful Place.

I am saddened to hear of Larry's untimely death. He still had a lot to offer the citizens of Memphis. In addition to being my representative, he and I shared high school and college graduation dates from the same schools. We shared many wonderful moments as colleagues. He will be missed.
