Don't ever call Arrow Gas for propane. They are the absolute worst company! I just switched to AmeriGas. Arrow was charging almost $7.00 per gal. Bunch of shysters! I called AmeriGas and they are $3.00 per gal. Arrow's tank is still sitting in my hard and it's been almost a month. And, if they think that they are getting another dime out of me, they can speak to my attorney.

oh another word of advice get rid of the propane tanks its more dangerouse than gas lines going into you house.

convert to oil anything but that and oil is cheaper than the propane right now.

I would switch to oil if I could. I rent so I was stuck with Arrow when I moved in, in January. I asked my landlord as soon as I heard what Arrow was charging and I asked if I could shop around which is why I switched to AmeriGas asap.

My landlord has called twice and I called twice. Four phone calls since January 23rd demanding Arrow to come pick up their tank that is still sitting in my yard because these bozos say that they are backed up and haven't been able to get to the house to remove the tank.

This isn't news... it's a Topix site for anybody to post what they feel like posting. I'm just letting the public know that if they have propane for home heating, not to call Arrow.

Joanie you are absolutely right! Arrow Gas ripped me off big time. Propane itself is out the roof, and Arrow is the worst!!! When I first moved into my apartment it cost me under $200 t fill my tank, it now cost $600-$700!!! CRAZY! I rent as well and therefore told the Landlord I am moving out due to fuel costs. Propane is not regulated and therefore will create a "money pit" for you to throw your money! ARROW SUCKS!

They are the worst! They still haven't come to pick up their tank. I've called five times and my landlord called numerous times also. They gave me another lame excuse saying that due to the time of year, deliveries take precendence over picking up tanks. The last excuse was that the tanks were frozen to the ground which was a total crock! I can't believe they are still in business. If you can, call AmeriGas. I'm only paying $3.00 per gal and if I use up x-amount this year, I will get locked in next year at $2.69 per gal. They have been great and didn't charge me for the tank.

Arrow finally came to pick up their tank yesterday. It's only been nine weeks sitting in my yard! I think they did, unless my landlord decided to take matters in his own hands and removed it himself. Let's see if they try and charge us a removal fee now... I should charge them for storing it in my yard for the past nine weeks!

I absolutely agree. And I tried to change to Amerigas; they said my tank belonged to Arrow. Their bills were always wrong and their employees always right. I bought the tank from Arrow 12 years ago to get away from their charging me for it, but Arrow refused to verify that to Amerigas (they claimed they didn't have any record of it. I finally gave the tank away and shifted to oil-fired hot water, which cost me $2700 but has saved me a fortune in gas. And anybody who thinks any AGENcu in RI is going to do anything about Arrow's overcharging is crazy. Are you aware that. over a year ago, the RI Public Utilities Commission granted National Grid and United Water a rate hike to compensate those companies for the profit lost from customers who were conserving energy?

Anybody who uses Arrow Gas needs there head examined. With so many propane companys out there you could throw a dart and hit one better than arrow. They charge you $5.00 everytime you get a delivery for a administration fee. Not only are they the most expensive, they're managment is rudest people I have ever dealt with.

I too am a very dissatisfied customer after 17 years.

The delivery man was rude. They sent out a note that crossed paths with my check. Not even due a month, that we had missed our next delivery date and would be charged, about $80. to re connect if we ran out, or $150. on the weekend, it seemed like a scam to me,in all fairness they did deliver in about 2 weeks,. So I called another company, on one fill up I would have saved about $100. The new company advised letting the tank go down to 25 percent to change the tanks & companies as they did not know others policies.

I sent a note signed and dated to discontinue service and requested they not deliver any more gas, after we swapped the tanks. I called to have them come get the tank. She did ask my reasons for leaving "Star Gas now Arrow Gas" I stated the above reasons.

She sent out someone by the end of the week, my husband was here and helped it couldn't have taken 1/2 hour (besides $120. per hour for labor?).

I now have a bill for $80.$20 for a trip charge and $60.labor for 1/2 hour. To get their property and they gave us no credit for the gas that was in the tank.

I am going to check out some more options and regulations, Lawyers can make $120. hr maybe that's what they are basing this fee on.

Any way after seeing this blog and some recent complaints, people that can't get the tanks removed, beware, they want more $$$. Looking at the BBB they only had one complaint filed in the last 6 months, unresolved. I thought it interesting The Better Business Bureau said they have one employee.

Ok, I called Star/Arrow gas 800# and they have stated the bill was a mistake. I do not owe $80. for them to pick up the tank and they are issuing a Check of $160. for the amount of gas that was in the tank.
It is just sad

Arrow Gas is the worst. I am disgusted by their lack of customer service, hidden fees, threatening letters, high prices, and general disregard for their customers. i have been a loyal customer who is always current with the bill. i feel frustrated that becuase I conserve gas (thus not using a lot) they charge me a higher rate based on usage. they hit me with a tank rental fee of 100$ as well. I think the next place I will write is to consumer watch at a news station so they will spotlight this business.
