Democrats call R.I. governor Carcieri 'sectarian extremist'

Full story: newsblog.projo.com

The Rhode Island Democratic Party this afternoon joined a gay-rights group in urging Governor Carcieri to cancel plans to headline a fundraising banquet for the Massachusetts Family Institute, an advocacy organization that considers homosexuality "an unhealthy practice and destructive to individuals, families and society." Party Chairman William Lynch said that the governor should "immediately withdraw his agreement to speak at the event and apologize to the thousands of gay and lesbian Rhode Islanders, and their families, who stand to be offended by his callous appeasement of this ultra-conservative organization," according to a statement issued late Tuesday afternoon.

The wording is rarely, if ever, proper.

The group should be rejected because they're *lying pointblank*-- and most likely, lying *knowingly, willfully and deliberately*-- about the origin and existentiality of inborn orientation.

Even if the group acknowledged this inborn status, they are horrifically, savagely, unforgivably misrepresentative in a pretense that one group "is proper" and "allowable" and that another "is not" and "should be criticized." I am glad for one thing, however.

I am glad that I've seen I'm *not* the only person whose jaw drops at these anti-gay groups who ceaselessly adore pretending that we live in the year 1500.

I am gladder yet that they are opposed so tirelessly and endlessly.

They live in the year 1500. And they should be dealt with the way somepeople were deealt with in the 1500s.
Go look up the Inquisition for some ideas.
And remember that the Catholic church is now headed by a man whose previous job was to run the group that is the successor to the inquisition.
All good Catholics should close up their pocketbooks until Benedict is removed from office.

Donald Carcieri is both a Republican and Roman Catholic, an unbeatable combination so what did anyone expect?

I'm sure Pope Maledict is very proud of him for his antediluvian stance on our rights.

Ha ha ha. MFI couldn't find ANY politicians in Massachusetts to headline their little fund-raiser. They had to go out-of-state!

Oh, I see people saying some pretty harsh things about him everywhere. You don't just take the "office" of "pope" and start saying a certain group of people is WEAK AND MENTALLY DISORDERED and give off much of an impression that you're following in the footsteps of the compassionate Christ, indeed.

I mean, Benedict's breaking a commandment every time he lies like that.

After John XXIII went too far to the left in the opinion of much of the Church, the Church was gradually taken over by a group of nutty right-wingers the worst of whom may have been Joey Ratzinger, the present Pope. This was rather like our Republican party.

If any one thinks that these folks in the Vatican are following in the footsteps of Jesus, they are perhaps nuttier than the Pope, if that's possible.

Yes, Maledict is infallible, that is, infallibly nutty!

I agree. His vitriol has no place and I accord him *zero* honor so long as it continues.

Zero persons will "force" me to honor him or to think of him honorably.

I am coldly uninterested in whatever anyone else has to say on the subject. My opinion is set, final and unchangeable.

In other words, I agree with you completely.

Your reply tells anyone sensible that the *reason* you make the preference in question is that, lying to yourself through your teeth, you convince yourself that *NO* Catholic could *possibly* be "evil" -- no matter their actions -- and that *every gay person* absolutely *MUST* be evil -- no matter their actions.

Sucks for you that you can't get everyone to agree with you. Why, the lack of replies to your own reply in this thread *could* potentially be a complete dismissal of your bigotry as worthless in the extreme.

I simply couldn't resist, however, telling you that it's no secret, what you're up to.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Leo

If you ask someone to give you a hand today, don't be surprised if they make a mess of it. That's probably because their mind isn't on the job, but it might also be because your instructions aren't as clear as usual. So before you get angry, check that what you said made sense. Relations with someone older or more influential than you could also be blighted by confusion or doubt now.
