Rabbi Greene has said it quite well.

"No religious tradition should be obligated to marry same-gender couples or recognize same-gender marriage within the context of their religious beliefs. But I also believe that marriage matters. I believe that no one should be denied the opportunity to marry the person she or he loves.

It is time for Oregonians to have a community conversation, a family chat."

For whether we are gay, straight, Jew or Gentile, we are all a part of the same family.

Very well put.

Homosexual marriage is of course a fraud with no real basis in homosexual life. No significant percent of the homosexual population has married in ANY country that allows it, and studies have shown that most such 'marriages' aren't even exclusive relationships.

There is no rational argument for homosexual marriage, and no such relationships share the reasons for government involvement in real marriage.

Why not live your life as your choose and forget trying to force your concocted, failed philosophy of homosexual marriage into law, against the will of most Americans?

That is sooooooo amazing! Where did you get this information from? Take your anti-gay bs propaganda somewhere else.

Oh course their is but since you clearly don't have a rational and thinking brain you won't know that. It's call equal rights. Adult homosexuals should be granted the same rights as adult heterosexuals, such as marriage, adoption, and serving in the military.

Again more anti-gay propaganda. 53% of all Americans support same sex marriage.

Prove it with VERIFIABLE AND RELIABLE stats. The following do NOT qualify as reliable: the frc, the fotf CULT, the cwa, the afa, and anything to do with exodus international.

I am married to my lovely WIFE. Next month, we will have been married for 3 years. Our marriage is rock-solid and Christ-centered. Is YOURS? In short, DAVID, myob, and grow UP.

Hello again David (goat boy of 10,000 screen names). Hon you post the exact same words under thousands of names but we know it's you.

But let's look at the fraud in marriage you allude to. Considering over 50% of marriages in the WORLD end in divorce, I'd say marriage itself is a fraud. Why not live your life as your choose and forget trying to force your concocted, failed philosophy of morality into law, against the will of most Americans?(a majority of Americans now support SSM)

Why would anyone take you at all seriously when you continue to hide behind multiples of screen names.

All you prove when you do this is just how much of a true coward you choose to be. No need to discuss your stupidity since it hangs out there for all the world to see David.

Why? Why do same-sex couples deserve the right to marry? What’s so special about their type of friendship?

Rabbi Greene is an idiot. Is legally affirming love the proper role for limited government? Since when has the government decided to intrude into our emotional lives and regulate our sentiments? What test will the government apply to make certain that people really love each other according to a standard that it will have to set?

The whole idea is so preposterous!

You don't know the difference between a platonic friend and a spouse?

That's sad.

Someday, if you fall in love with someone, mind, heart, body, and soul, you will come to understand. For now, however, it would be best if you didn't comment on things beyond your current limited understanding.

It just makes you look silly.

What’s so special about same-sex couples that they deserve to marry?

You mean, just because you love someone, that this gives you the right to marry?

Do heterosexual have that right? If they do why shouldn't homosexuals have that same right?

Marriage isn't about procreation since even those who don't or can't have children can marry. So let's just set that aside. Marriage isn't about financial security since contractual law can provide that. So let's set that on aside as well.

The real question is just why should heterosexuals have special rights to marry? Because it's always been that way? That's been proven incorrect as well given the ancient history of same sex marriage.

For all the same reasons that heterosexual couples get to marry. What's so special about two people of opposite genders' friendship that they need to marry?

Why? Why do you have a problem with two consenting adults getting married to each other? Why do you feel the need to deny rights to LGBT peoples that make up 10% of the population?

What's so special about straight couple's "friendship"? Especially if they can't bear children.

You clearly don't understand why people marry. It's out of love and desire, certainly, but also about making a commitment to each other, to care for each other and to work for their spouses interests. And the State defnitely does have a significant interest in this matter.

yup. as long as they satisfy the current State Laws, which is what we did before the DOMA laws began.
