I agree. The acceptance of homosexuality in liberal western society is a sure sign of the worst kind of moral decadence.

A wasteful extravagance. They already have that vile bigot Sally Kern, who is more than enough evil for one state, even Oklahoma.

I , in turn , think differently .. It's the existence of bigotry disguised as " God " and " Morality " that has always stood in the way of healthy progress .

I'm not sure that Satanists actual believe Satan to be evil. That is the boogie-man construct of the Catholic Church.

But so is Satan himself a false construct. And God, for that matter. That makes the defense the Christians are putting up so much more ironic.

But in truth, if any monument is to be established in support of one of these fake religions, every fake religion (read: ANY religion) must be allowed their own monument.

And as far as Oklahoma values go ("I believe that only monuments that reflect Oklahoma values should be allowed on capitol grounds."), it's fairly absurd for this representative of the people (Rep Bob Cleveland) to assume he knows the beliefs of every citizen of his state. Oklahomans still re-elect Sally Kern, so I think that an approval of Satanism is not that unbelievable.

Can't wait to see where and how this ends up.

How many kinds of moral decadence are there?

Could you list them please with examples?

I hope they win and get to construct a shrine to Satan right next to the Christian one! Maybe THEN the idiot brigade will start to understand how their forcing religion onto the government can and will backfire.

After all, fair is fair! If once religion gets to be celebrated, that opens the door for ALL THE REST OF THEM to be equally celebrated. Even in knuckle-dragging, hate-based Oklahoma.

I love it. It gives lie to the idea that this country wants religious freedom.

It wants freedom only for Jaysus kooks...and might be willing to tolerate Jews for certain purposes in certain contexts.

Right! To them, "freedom of religion" means that everyone else is free to follow THEIR religion.

And they're too stupid to realize that if they are allowed to force their religion onto other people, the same could just as easily happen to them. That's why separation of church and state are so important.

But the religionists are too short-sighted to see that. They only believe that their personal flavor of their chosen beliefs will be forced onto everyone else and not the other way around.

Put this into perspective...this nation was founded on Christian (whatever the sect) values. Not Satanic values. Progressive liberals are Satan and would like their agendas to be made known. Liberalism is ripping our nation to shreds. There is no lower scum than a liberal democrat.

How anti Semitic, for starters. The Founders explicitly did not want the sort of christianist theocracy you tee baggrz favor. You are liars.

It is good if our jeeshush mullahs are feeling increasingly upset that liberals or others are challenging their theocratic dogmas. Oh the horrors of not being able to be a bigot! Woe!

You are, of course, wrong. There were some Christians involved in founding our country, but the most important of the founders--Jefferson, Madison, Franklin--were not Christians. Our country was founded on values found in the Christian, Muslim, Jewish and every other religion--Satanism included. Also atheist. They are the values of fairness and honesty, which transcend any religion. The laws are based on the idea of what is necessary to maintain a workable society.

Further, it's not the liberals who are destroying this country; it is the unthinking, irresponsible actions of conservatives like you that are tearing our country apart. It is the idea that everyone must join your religion or, essentially, die. You Christians are so exactly like Muslims in this way, yet you condemn them for doing the exact same thing you are doing. You are a coward and a hypocrite. If our country survives its current crises, it will be in spite of conservatives, not thanks to conservatives.

No, our nation was certainly NOT founded on any Christian values. The founding fathers themselves said so, in the Treaty of Tripoli.

Which Christian values are you referring to? Are any of these values present in the 10 Commandments? Were we founded on the Christian value that we are all commanded to worship only the Christian God, like the VERY FIRST Commandment says?

Had this been one of our founding values, freedom in this country would have been doomed before it got started. Instead, our founding values included the value of religious freedom, which these Satanists are as entitled to exercise as any Christian is. Such freedom to worship ANY being (or even an inanimate idol) is completely contrary to Christian values. It is not a freedom that the Christian God wants his people to exercise.

The best solution is to recognize that religion is fine a PERSONAL expression, but that such expression should NOT come from our shared government. Government should remain religiously-neutral, or secular, in order to ensure that it will serve ALL citizens equally, without bias toward their beliefs.

Courthouse lawns should not be used for this kind of religious advertising. Keep your 10 Commandment displays (and Nativity scenes, crosses, etc) in your PRIVATE yards. Keep them in your churches. Go to the mall and see if the management will allow you display it there (it's up to them). But keep it out of the government. This institution can only be (further) sullied by wearing a badge of one religion over all others, and it will only become a cluttered laughing-stock if it allows ALL religions to plaster our courtyards with each and every display imaginable.
