Third Coolest October on record in the USA

Full story: www.ncdc.noaa.gov

The average October temperature of 50.8°F was 4.0°F below the 20th Century average and ranked as the 3rd coolest based on preliminary data. For the year-to-date (January - October) period, the contiguous U.S. temperature ranked 43rd warmest. Temperatures were below normal in eight of the nation's nine climate regions, and of the nine, five were much below normal. Only the Southeast climate region had near normal temperatures for October. Statewide temperatures coincided with the regional values as all but six states had below normal temperatures. Oklahoma had its coolest October on record and ten other states had their top five coolest such months. The three-month period (August-October) was the coolest on record for three states: Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Five other states had top five cool periods: Missouri (2nd), Iowa (3rd) , Arkansas (5th) , Illinois (5th) and South Dakota (5th) .

However, global temperatures in October 2009 were still hanging high.

All pretty warm, considering the sun has been at a lifetime's extended solar minimum low for 2 years, radiating 2 parts per 1000 below normal.

“Earth has cooled since 1998 in defiance of the predictions by the UN-IPCC….

The global temperature for 2007 was the coldest in a decade and the coldest of the millennium…

which is why

‘global warming’

is now called

‘climate change.’”-

are anyone supposed to be able to find data on that EPW link about your inaccurate misleading claim that "Earth has cooled since 1998 in defiance of the predictions by the UN-IPCC…" and your false statment "The global temperature for 2007 was the coldest in a decade and the coldest of the millennium…"

come on.....we're dumb....but we're not-so-dumb. at least try to lead us to the data you base your claims on. and, please try to back up your ridiculous claims with some facts from somewhere besides the oil industry backed fanatical website. maybe another fanatical oil-based or republican page. or an extremist/capitalistic webpage. there's gotta be a few pandering to your sensibilities.

Got lots of negative icons for the last post. Must have been because I forgot to say that the sun & sunspots were active too.
So deniers....keep hanging onto 1998, with all its positive warming effects. You can 'prove' lots of cooling by cherry picking 1998.

This is a good graph of the last 30 years. The statement by NOAA was about the US record from 1880.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Taurus

Everything seems to be getting under your skin at the moment, but this is no excuse to lose your temper, and you know it. Better by far to be discreet and plough on steadily, without looking to the left or right. If you keep your feet on the ground and don't get discouraged, there are definitely fair winds that will blow you along. It's just a question of finding the right balance between confidence and commonsense.
