No, no, no. Less government I'm telling you. Let these private corporations build and run jails and leave them alone. If someone escapes like this? Oh well. It was not the governments fault was it? No suits like this should be allowed.

they tried that, and between the corrupt judges, and the millions, per month, paid to operate, made many rich as all get out. yes it was illegal and found guilty, they were unjust, and cruel, for profit,, by the bucket. a perfect example of corperate America, everyone, but the people,, have there hand in the cookie jar.You think they will charge less than the state pays, or up the price 25%, and pay extra for a no bid contracts? it cost far to much for your idea, compared what we are forced to pay today. No insult intended no attitude just info passed,ok.Last thing we need now, is another forign based, American Corperation, running American, prisions countrywide.

this in no way should allow suits agaist states, or the Feds, for criminal care.they do there best, with what they get, and do a good job.[unless 68% of the population bails all at once]and should not be held accountable, for there prisioners, in a court of law.hey **** happens,to every thing and everyone.

BTW
how many of you think you and your spouce are going to make 40 million in your life time? 40 million, in damages is outragious, to say the least.

None of you have the truth.

Vicarious liability. The government is still responsible by the state's contstitution to protect its people; Quality assurance and or "State Duty Officers" are responsible for assuring that all policy/procedures are complied with. All of which fall under the Department of Corrections. Sorry, just because you contract out, dosent elliminate your libility to protect the great citizens and visitors of the state of Arizona.

It's not the sake of this couple making $40M in their lifetime. It's a case of the govt not doing its job and the family's loss of their parent, brother, sister, uncle, etc..... It has less to do with any amount they could have earned in their lifetime, more to do with the loss of human life.

Blame the deep pocket, don't blame the killers. Great philosophy. Glad the family found just the right price tag for the loss of their loved ones.

i didn't realize they were in a private prison. but, the state gives the care and the authority over these prisons. they regularly stage 'hostage situations' with these prisons. you cannot just farm these guys out and then when something goes wrong say...'oops, too bad...not our fault.'
you're living in a fools paradise, sir.
the fact is....the inmates are still the property of the state, and as such they are responsible for them

methinks, u might feel differently if it were your mom and dad, brother and/or sister that this happened to.

the prisons main responsibility is not to punish the inmate...but to keep him inside the fence. they failed. they are responsible

the reason private prisons are cheaper is they pay their officers much less and have less benefits.
