DHS is to blame for many things but I am not sure they had a hand in this. ON 12-10-2009 a little over a month before this little girl was murdered an Emergency Protective Order was placed through the Oklahoma County Court.

The FATHER J.J. Johnson was awarded FULL CUSTODY. The mother Tonya Hobbs was allowed "supervised" visits with the child. And it states "Child shall NOT be left alone with respondent (Tonya Hobbs), the child shall not be around Lester Hobbs the respondents current husband"

Go to OSCN.net and enter Hobbs Tonya and have a look at the last document filed (12-10-09)

You can blame whomever you want but the court told this father that he was to have SOLE CUSTODY and not leave her alone with the mom but HE LET HER TAKE HER TO GERONIMO!

Who do you blame now?

to sad sad, the dad may have won custody of Aja but court orders are still present for the non-custodial parent to have visitation.....I know from experience the judges here in Oklahoma DON'T care what is best for the child, only what would close the court cases before them.....
Stephanie THIS JUDGE did care and said the kid wasn't supposed to go alone with the mom.......it's the dad's fault, the blood is on his hands!

you know some body need for the kids in these unite state-go to battle with DHS -- they must be untuchable god will take care of them in the end. but until the end the law need to arrest the DHS workers and charge them with attempted murder because they know when they are abuse once it is just like a rapiest they do it from then on. why don't congress make the first offence life in prison or the death by firing squad. god will take care of them all the desent people can look to heavon and pray DHS- should hire desent people.
DHS is a joke. I have seen my own grandchildren taken from their home with brusies and blood on them. They have lived with me on and off most of their lives. DDS sends them back to the abusive homes because they beleive that is the best place for them. DHS is Oklahoma needs to be dismantled and a new control office needs to be made. DHS does not do home checks of the parents on a regular basis. If the did I am sure they would find drugs and loaded guns in the home. The kids are called liers if they say anything. Fear is a shame in children who tell the truth. Day Cares and schools turn a blind eye to bruises and wounds. How many times can a child run into the door knob or fall down stairs?

It is not stupid to blame them. Yes if that child is taken without a court order allowing them then it is kidnapping. In a case where the visitation is ordered to be supervised it is the responsibility of DHS, and the court, to do so, not the custodial parent. The reason for that is because in cases such as this the tensions are too high for the family to have to oversee visitation, fights erupt, etc. Someone, other than the family, turned their back for whatever reason. I am not blaming law enforcement but CPS yes. It is not ridiculous to expect them to DO THEIR JOB! They plainly stated there was abuse going on and that agency, just as in Kelsey Briggs' case, failed again.
I think you are not quite understanding the roll of DHS. If Father was given custody, that is a family court matter. If in the custody order it was stipulated that the visits have to be supervised, that is his duty to arrange. If that child is in the custody of a protecting parent, the court releases that child to that parent. DHS IS NO LONGER INVOLVED. DHS and Law Enforcement have nothing to do with supervising visitation. I think many people need to actually understand the roll of The Department and where the limits are before they start barking about underpaid, overworked, and misrepresented people. Are mistakes made? Absolutely. Are there workers that are completely fried due to the stress of the job. They sacrifice sleep, meals, church, and family functions to serve their families. Some take money form their own slim pockets to treat custody children to lunch. Please educate yourselves on the practice, policy, statutes, and the operations of DHS before you lay blame. There are always two sides to the story and the media is here to sell papers and advertisements. Of course they tell you the stuff that makes you stand up and take notice, now ask for the rest of the story.

I think you need to be educated on the role and authority of DHS. They can't search a home....they are not police. My goodness, people need to know what they are saying before they say it.

Yes, I just love how it is always DHS fault. Funny how the dad fought for custody to get his baby away from mom and her husband BUT still let his baby go with both of them for a visit...ohhh, did I say that out loud!!
do you by chance know if the visitations were court-ordered? do you know the list of short-comings DHS has against them, not to mention the CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT that has been field on behalf of children in Oklahoma DHS custody? did you know that we have the highest number of child abuse related deaths in the nation? someone's not doing their job. yes, parents need to parent better, but DHS needs to ensure human rights to children that are in their custody. yes, you did say it out loud, so expect a response.

My little boy was almost 6 years old when the system took him from me in Woodward Oklahoma. I blame the cops the cps and the courts up their I was visiting their and was thinking about moving their until this happened to me I couldn't afford a lawyer and the courts refused to give me one my life has been changed forever all my right as a mother was stripped from me I'm thankful to God thay didn't take my other child that day but still I long for justice which I never got every night I cry in my sleep because I miss my little boy Logan that was taken from me and gave to his father and Unstable wife but thay are nothing I can do thay have money and pull I have nothing the best I can do is pray God watchs over my little boy and no harm will come to him by his fathers wife the courts knew she was unstable but thay still gave my little boy to them known thisand refused to give my little boy to any of my family. Members the courts up their said I deprived my little boy Logan I had two children the courts took my little boy this has caused me and my son Austin a lot of heartache and pain for over 3 years now and the pain never goes away we love Logan and want him back I never done anything wrong to begin with so where is our justice we don't have any. Justin for all that's a joke I hope all them that had a hand in taken my little boy rots in hell
