Hey, its not as if they were educated in the ways of the world. Its Oklahoma, ok.

It should be DAH.

To be elected you need a heart beat, anyones, even if you borrow it.

Anyone younger than 80 can not run for office, and if you can run you will do so in another direction.

They are banning the death penalty, they think its retro abortion.

it is so easy to be flippant and clever while online safe in your own private corner of the world, isn't it?
i am from oklahoma, gay, very well educated and very aware that the people you are laughing about are not so stupid as you would suppose. they are also not so old. some of the youngest political leaders and legislators.
i come from a prominent democratic family which has had connections since before statehood and high influence in washington as union officials and staff to a very well known political family of irish descent, as well as social relationships.
i saw starting in the 1980's how the political and moral conscience of the state was skillfully manipulated by money funneled through military bases, construction grants, education funding at universities turned into country clubs where no dares step out of place not even my old gay aquaintances. it's all too safe there. the economy hasn't taken the hit as in other parts of the country. housing prices have remained steady.
i left in 1986 and have only returned 3 times, each reinforcing my determination to not repeat my mistake. i was once propositioned by a man who held high state office and later in washington and now holds a very comfortable, safe position back in oklahoma where he will be taken care of for the rest of his days. all on the taxpayers dime. and people know about the little scandals like his and do nothing. college footballs coaches who party with players, drugs, nice cars and wife swapping. other prominent male athlete and coach run out for sleeping together, but later accolades bring forgiveness and rewards.
it's just how it's done and not without knowledge, money and ruined lives or worse if needed.

You are the exception, not the rule. And you had the good sense to get out.

But Oklahoma deserves the scorn heaped on it. The republican legislators gave Sally Kern a standing ovation a fews days after she said gays were a bigger threat to this country than terrorism. What kind of politicians would do something like that? Sorry, but Oklahoma is a joke.

Oklahoma City Republican Rep. Mike Reynolds claims "dictatorial rule" is being used in good old OK. I wonder if he feels the same about fellow republican from NJ Christie vetoing a law passed by the duly elected representatives of the people?

My guess is he'd say that is perfectly acceptable. So if Gov. Christie is within his legal rights to do what he did, why isn't Speaker Kris Steele?
