So what can we do in times of economic downturn? Can we push to amend the requirements under welfare reform to reflect a certain job market availability? How would that be measured?

Interesting question Bekky. Problem seems to be that there are fewer jobs, companies either folder or leaving the state, tax rolls are down, fewer funds flowing into coffers that feed assistance programs. Not sure how that could be funded.

Glenn Beck is hated by the left because he's pointing out the motives behind this economic suffering: The Marxist in chief and his co-conspirators are overwhelming and crashing the system.

Reverend Wright's loyal disciple of 20 years would pass a crooked stimulus plan to pay off union cronies, reward the banksters for robbing us, increase foreclosures, tax businesses out of existence, frighten the people with swine flu, laugh as unumployment rises beyond their 'projections', and have the people begging the government for food and money just to survive.

If I swear my hatred for the old USA can I get a meal also?

If people continue to have children they cannot afford they will be in poverty simple. THIS IS NOT the first time the economy has had a downturn...wake up people. Do people who need SO MUCH help CARE about the people they TAKE from? NO!

If you are a two income family, making decent money, paying your house payment, health and car insurance, cable and cell bills, utilities, the usuall, you're doing better than most. Now, 6 months or a year later, one or both of you lose your job. How long will you survive without assistance? 3 months, 6 months? Many people take advantage of they welfare system, but many more just need some help. They are not criminals. Many of them are just underemployed. It doesn't take long to lose everything you've worked for, and I hope everyone is able to get back on their feet soon.

A LOT OF people take advantage of the system and they are the ones that make it difficult for people who REALLY need asisstance! EVERYONE should be angry with those people who's lifestyle is GOVERNMENT HANDOUTS! Less for honest people who need it.

Welfare reform was wildly popular in a mean, dumb, racist country. It will not be changed just because innocent people suffer. The only people we care about are people with clout -- the middle class elderly, for example. Poor people we treat like dirt.

I heard that in Virginia if you are on welfare you are also expected to work at one of the recycling plants. So it's not just free money, you are actually working for it. Not sure if this is true or not. If so, it'd be nice to see that implemented in Ohio.

8 years of George W Bush can't be fixed in one year or even one term. It will take a long time to clean up this mess. We need Obama to talk more to the nation and more articles about him in the news to help stay on track.

Because YOU do not have an argument you call names, real smart stupid. YOU can't handle the truth and there are sooo many people who are NOT disabled OR unemployed who make it their lifestyle to live off of government handouts. Oh, the elderly can't help getting old and many of them worked most of their lives paying taxes so shut up bleeding heart with NO reasoning skills.
Exactly how is it mean, inaccurate, racist or dumb for wanting able bodied people to pull their weight?? And poor people in this country live well. Cable, free food, utilities, clothes, cable tv's better than I have lived at different times in my life. I HAVE WORKED MY BUTT OFF DO YOU THINK POOR PEOPLE CARE about my sob stories?? NO! Please educate yourself.

Oink oink.
Stop going for the easy buck and start producing something with your life. Create, instead of living off the buying and selling of others.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Cancer

Discussions and meetings go really well today because you're finding it easy to put your thoughts into words. You'll also show that you respect other people's viewpoints even if they don't coincide with your own. It's a good day for making domestic plans, and some of these will be quite ambitious without being unrealistic or far-fetched.
