Ironic how the election is following the path of Carter/Reagan. Reagan was in the tank and polls showed Carter was all good even with a sour economy and a hostage crisis...The similarities are a thing to behold...But in the end Ronald Reagan won by a landslide.

Polls have a lot to be desired. There are many factors that change polls. Dick Morris has a column on his web page about how government frightened Gallop to change their poll numbers. It seems as though the government harassed and even sued Gallop because of their poll results. All of a sudden, Obama took the lead in the Gallop poll:
Polls today this far from election are about as accurate as the seventh day of the seven day weather forecast. You can believe it if you want to, but don't pack that picnic basket just yet.
Although this election has similar qualities to those of past, the one thing that's different this election is the race of the contender. A lot of people feel guilty or embarrassed to say they are going to vote out a black President. But what they say over the phone could be very different than what they do once nobody is looking and they go to punch a hole in the card.
Never give up. That's what they want us to do.
