The Empire State Pride Agenda today released a list of 700 clergy and lay leaders from across New York state who are in support of the legislature passing a marriage equality bill.

Jesus was speaking about divorce in that passage. He was NOT speaking about who could get married and what their genders had to be.

ALL of the elements of a traditional Jewish wedding are present in the passages describing the relationship between David and Jonathan. They exchanged gifts, and vows, and had sex. Any one of those elements all by itself is sufficient to constitute a marriage, if performed with the intent to create a marriage, and they had all three.

When Jonathan gave David his sword and other royal items of authority, what did David give him in return?

Sex? The Hebrew "yada" does not appear anywhere in this passage.

You have to be able to get married before you can get a divorce. Perhaps you should read further in the passage. Verses 11 & 12 pertain to those who cannot get married.

As I've pointed out to you before, there are more than two sexes. There are those who are created intersex, having either ambiguous genitalia, genitalia of both sexes, or primary sexual traits of one gender and secondary sexual traits of another. There are people created by God who are XXY, XXXY, XO, and other permutations of X and Y. There are people created with some of the tissue in their bodies having XY chromosomes and other tissues in the same body having XX or XO chromosomes. The Reverend Gagnon appears to be just as ignorant of human genetics as you and the human authors of the Old Testament.

In I Samuel 20:41, the Hebrew word for exceeded is discussed below.

The Hebrew word is "higdil," which is the causative conjugation of the root gadal, meaning that David was caused to become big, in other words, he got a hard on from his passion for Jonathan.
