<quoted text> A priest can't have a friend? I remember Father Gabalski, at DPS, saying that a priest's best friend must be another priest, because only another priest can fully understand the trials and tribulations of another priest. And what? There's a sexual relationship? I think, not.
Of course they can and they should... but ALWAYS AS PRIESTS and with ALL priests. How come some many priests, diocesan and religious, are cut off from the "inner circle" and don't share in the "happy hours" and "happy fringe benefits" that some priests have? Is it just envy and not "savoir faire"?
Priestly fraternity in the DOB (notwithstanding the Advent/Lent penance gatherings, pre/post Chrism Mass dinners and Jesus Caritas meetings) is frozen and is the cause of many problems.
