Jerry Brown Global Warming Website Takes On Climate Change Deniers

Aug 13, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Huffington Post

Noting the occasion of the 15th annual Lake Tahoe Summit, a conference examining the environmental and developmental issues affecting the iconic alpine region straddling the California and Nevada borders, California Governor Jerry Brown announced the launch of a website dedicated to combating skeptics of climate change.

Here is the Governor's site. It's well done, abundantly footnoted:

http://www.opr.ca.gov/s_climatechangefacts.ph...

The sentence that says it all:
"The basic, fundamental facts that climate change is occurring and its central cause is human-made emissions are no longer subject to meaningful scientific debate: climate change is real, it's caused by human activities, we are already seeing the effects, and our current path has put us on course for dire results in the not-too-distant future."

Why are so few of these scientist willing to put their pen to paper and sign their name that MMGW is happening??????
So far we have less than 50 that have domes so......

Now we have 31k scientist that say there is no proof of MMGW........

Only morons would believe less than 50 scientist over 31k scientist.....

Never did 31,000 scientists sign, but most often kids with college degrees, a large percentage NOT in science & mathematics. A number of signatures were faked. Plus, the survey was accompanied by AGW denier 'information' & people asked to sign, which invalidated the survey.

However, poor trainees in AGW denier tactics still put forth the survey.

The survey had one paid worker hired by AGW deniers using a winding trail of cash.

Crazy talk. Every major national scientific academy, every relevant scientific society and around 98% of publishing climatologists (in multiple surveys) have endorsed the IPCC's findings that we are cooking the climate.

Meanwhile, the "31k scientist" you refer to is nothing other than the long-debunked Oregon Petition, a scam perpetrated twenty years ago by oil industry front groups. Most of the signatories did not know what they were signing, were not scientists, had no expertise in any discipline related to climate, had their names subsequently removed, or were total spoofs (such as "Dr. Hawkeye Pierce", "Dr. Perry Mason"...). The man most responsible for that scam is Art Robinson, a survivalist holed up in a remote compound high in the Siskiyou Mountains, where he sells fallout shelters and rails against communism. That's who you trust?

You have no teaching certificate to ask anybody questions. You have no upper class science, chemistry, astronomy, algebra or pre-calc to go with your hi skule deegreee(if you got the deegreee). topix AGW deniers should be kept as stupid as they educated themselves to be.

Okay, you've successfully tagged yourself as a political fanatic who cares nothing about science, but, should the unlikely day dawn when you can see past those teabags dangling in your eyes, here is a little of the skinny on the overwhelming, longstanding global scientific consensus on climate:

I'd like to see the list of scientists as well. but all I ever get is the general statements and the surveys of scientific work.

The name and paper published would be great. Just one paper that shows man has caused the warming. Not an opinion piece, not a magazine article, just a paper with data and methodology.

The problem is that very few scientist are willing to put pen to paper with a statement that agrees with fat gore

The reason is that there is absolutely ZERO proof and any scientist that did will become the joke of the scientific world

So that is why you always see these generic list of "NASA says" or "university says"

And these moron sheeples will follow fat gore all the way to the slaughter house

Bubba, individual scientists don't generally sign joint statements. That's part of what scientific societies and academies are for.

The Oregon Petition was not such a joint statement; it was a mailed survey without any check of credentials, sent under a false flag.

Now troll on.

I agree, the most a scientist will say is,'what I just studied didn't cause all the warming we see, so CO2 could be the reason'.

Problem is, not one singular climate function caused all of anything. Put all the various impacts of all the known climate functions together and CO2 has a hard time climbing to the top of the list.
